No, I don't have this thing for maids. I only like Mariel from Hanaukyo Maids, Mahoro from Mahoromatic and May from Hand Maid May. (Do maids' names have to begin with M?) Surely that doesn't count as having a maid fetish? But I'm really so drawn to Hisui and Kohaku. They're sooooooo cute! I wonder they being twins have any bearing on their allure? Oh no, an unwanted side effect from Onegai Twins!!? Kohaku does remind me a little of Mahoro while Hisui seems pretty repressed, being a little stiff around Shiki. Actually as far as I can see, the Tohno family is a little creepy. We have twins maids with opposing personalities and a sister (Akiha) who behaves like 60 yr old matriarch instead of 16 yr old schoolgirl. Above all, they all seem to have something to hide. That brings me to the atmosphere of the series. The 'air' in Tsukihime is now really thick with suspense. I thought Shiki's recall of his childhood was masterfully done, esp when the 'additional' mysterious unknown boy was shown. His smirk was chilling. Maybe Shiki has a twin after all? That would explain some of his memory 'loss'. I thought Shiki's dream of Arcueid also spoke volumes. It's an excellent way of telling the audience that Shiki is drawn to the woman in Arcueid but yet fears the vampire in her. But somehow I think this fear only drives him to desire Arcueid even more. Ciel is also another character who is more than meets the eye. All the signs seem to link her with the church organisation. The role of the organisation is also unclear at this point. I guess the only 'normal' female in the show is Satsuki who also likes Shiki a lot. Yeah, it's a pity her rivals are Arcueid and Hisui. She doesn't stand a chance.
