Mai HiME (Preview)

Woah! Mind blowing stuff! I was left breathless the first time I saw the preview. I have seen the previews for Bakuretsu Tenshi (by GONZO) and Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Seikai (by Gainax) but neither had an impact like Hime does. Stunning artwork and animation, truckloads of cute girls (it's amazing how their personalities come across in a that short few seconds of exposure) and a seemingly multi-layered story drawing elements from various genres. There's a bit of fanservice too but it's appropriated to the perfect dosage. Elegantly sensual, not sexually exploitative kind. Maybe I'm reading too much. Actually Ikkitousen comes to mind. Immensely powerful schoolgirls square off with big swords, guns and dragons. *Shudder* I just hope it's not remotely similar in any other way.

Sunrise sure knows how to make previews. I must say the music played a MAJOR role in making the preview memorable. Kajiura Yuki's piece really accentuated the dramatic and intriguing moments in the preview. Sasuga Kajiura sensei. I can't get the music out of my head now (probly cos I left it on repeat mode on the Media player for the whole night. ) Sigh, now I'm left in great anticipation of the series and only have the 1.5 min preview to feed my growing hunger for it. The Sunrise website doesn't reveal much information either.
