Paranoia agent 05-06

Paranoia Agent Ep 5-6 : If not for the ample fuses I placed in my brain, I would have grey matter oozing out of my ears. Ep 5 blew most of my fuses as Shounen Bat shed light on the motivations behind his attacks. Much as I would like to write them off as insane ramblings of a deluded teenager, there was a great deal of truth embedded/encoded in the testimony he related. That's really scary when fact and fiction (being such polarised items on the supposed absolute spectrum of truth) are actually so intimately intertwined with each other, to that extent of the 2 entities ceasing to be separate. Btw, I think the 'Gooma', Shounen Bat is talking about, is Marumi.

Ep 6 was easier on the brain but less on the guts. I was so repulsed by Hirkawa's act that I wanted to spit on him and puke at the same time. Now we know why he demands his 'business associates" to call him Otousan. A very sick man indeed. On another note, I love the way the 2 separate storythreads (of the homeless old lady and Taeko ) meld together to give us 2 simultaneous perspectives even though only one of the threads is active at one time. Brilliant storytelling and ingenious editing. We also find out that there's more than 1 Shounen Bat. Paranoia Agent "Stand-Alone Complex"?
