This series is losing its hold on my interest. While I'm still drawn to the Evangelionesque characters, I'm unimpressed with everything else. The mecha fighting action feels uninspired, the plot feels a little choppy and there are also some lapses in the control of 1) credible responses the characters should be giving with respect the circumstances 2) credible combat situations (especially gigantic blast radii that fail to fry Kyouhei kun and gang even when they are right beside). Ok, I may be nit-picking but sufficient credibility (subjected to the genre and tone set by the anime themselves) is important for me so that I can feel for the characters and engage myself with the series at a deeper level. Well as least Joe is quite consistent as a character for this ep. Her actions and reactions are congruent with her concern for Meg (who is constantly at the foremost of her mind), unlike Amy and Sei who were still taking things pretty easy. Maybe there's something about the group dynamics that I haven't understood yet. Joe and Meg an item maybe? Still on Joe, she really reminds me of having the demeanor/temper of Christie/Ayane of DOA3 (Dead or Alive 3). That's not a bad thing since I'm a 'fan' of Ayane (whom, incidentally, I classify as a Rei-clone too.) I guess I would be liking Joe too.

Will probly watch a few more eps before deciding if I should drop it for Kenran Butousai. Need some mecha supplements on my anime diet.
