Tenjou Tenge 10

Flashback! We go back a few years when Natsume Shin was alive and Mitsuomi still hasn't gotten a spandex obsession. Even the respected Maya chan was just a gaki (brat) then with strong fighting spirit but inferior fighting powress (ala Souichiro). The relationship between Maya n Shin is further revealed with a strong hint of bro/siscon. As of ep 10, there's still no indication of how Shin/Mitsuomi would end up fighting each other to death but Shin's kanojyo seducing Mitsuomi might have been one of the primers. The plot thickens with Maya's clandestine assaults on Shin's Team Katana members for unknown motives.

Tenten's plot is really picking up. I'm really curious how the various story elements introduced in this ep will converge onto the tragedy of Natsume Shin's death. It's hard to imagine it is the then dopey Mitsuomi (someone in utter reverence for Shin) who kills Shin and continued to loathe him with such intense hatred after his demise. This ep also teases by providing a fore-taste of the complex liaisons between the 3 key players (Shin, Maya and Mitsuomi) in this tragic segment of the story. The complications include,

1) Shin and Maya having this thing for each other despite being siblings
2) Kuzunoha (Shin's kanojyo) and Mitsuomi having a rendezvous.

Add these to the knowledge that Mitsuomi and Maya eventually became an item and we have a concoction of love love drama, soon-to-be distilled into deadly destiny. However, the rich emphasis on Maya and Mitsuomi is starting to make the rest of the cast look shallow. This is especially so for Aya whom I have assumed to be the central female character for Tenten since she dominated the ED song. Well, the series is not even halfway through and I'm sure Aya's char will beef out eventually. But for now, my eyes are fixated on the lovely Natsume Maya.
