Futakoi Alternative 02
Ep 01 showed us a bi-amorous life is possible. Ep 02 takes a step further and explores the inner workings of such a lifestyle.
Today's lesson from Futakoi Alternative is the 4 operative keywords in shaping and sustaining a bi-amorous (or even poly if you have Crimson's aspirations
) relationship.
Keyword #1: Indoctrination
Note that Sara and Soujou were only 13 when they looked Rentarou up. Poly-amorous values are easily soluble in impressionable minds. Rentaro, you lolicon you.
Keyword #2: Indispensible
Notice how Sara and Soujou fight ever so often and yells for Rentarou for arbitration? Yes, carve an indispensible niche for yourself in the equation of 3. (Even if it means you have to be the coffeeboy or a master of futago trivia.) Keyword #3: Inseparable
Go everywhere together. Do everything together. And you will soon be recognised by the townfolks as a family unit despite breaching social boundaries. (I don't see anyone calling Rentaro a 2-timing snake. In fact, having 2 girls by his side seemed to boost his social stature.)

Keyword #4: Inheritance
Having studly genes from your dad, preferably the ??(TM) chromosomes (cr: moyism) will increase your likelihood of enjoying a bi-amourous lifestyle. See Rentaro's dad for details on the genes.
Man, I wished Dad had told me about these things earlier
But honestly these four characteristics are almost impossible to implement in the Singapore context. Take indoctrination for example. Make any false move on any under-16s and you risk the whip. Indispensible alpha male? I can hear my female friends laughing hysterically already. Inseparable? Sure. Singapore's so small anyway. There's only these few places to go. (That is until the raging feminist mob pry you away from your 2 kawaii girlfriends and burn you at the stake. Nah kidding, they'll just burn down your house.
) Inheritance? One of our 'proudest' legacy of the Singaporean male is the 3 Ks.
1) Kiasi - scared of death
2) Kiasu - scared of losing
3) Kiabor - scared of wife
Of course I only speak for myself and not the majority of the manly Singapore male population. (classic example of kiasi - scared of dying to raging male mob). The last K compels me to apply online (yes in Singapore we apply everything online) to my future wife for a bi-amourous lifestyle. Since I peeled prawns for her during lunch, I have a good feeling about this.
FA 02 continues to educate entertain although the mishmeshing of separate timelines can be confusing or even feel schizophrenic at times. Nevertheless, I simply love the spontaneity of the series. (It's almost impossible to predict the next scene.) Combine this with the energetic characters and we have one of the more enjoyable series this season. Can't wait for Lesson 3.
