Blood+ 02-03

Since slicing a huge mutant Chipmunk in half and getting lots of not-blood-related- sis-con waves from Kai, Saya is hardly ever in the mood for hot yuri lurvin, much to Kaori's consternation. The latter tries to get Saya to go to a love hotel with her but is intercepted by George who then leaves her with Riku as a consolation prize.

Back from Planet Yuri Fantasy, I'll be putting Blood+ on the blogging backburner. Currently the pace is a bit slow for me but I suppose it's a good, steady buildup. The "I'll defend you from the monsters/strange men/US military, Saya! Oh wait, I'm completely out of my depth" machoism of George and Kai, while commendable, is a tad cliched. Plus I don't have much to add to what's already been said by Random Curiosity (Ep 2, 3), Cinnamon Ass (Ep 2, 3) or the Hagi Fan Girl Army.

Minor note. Nice use of the SOFA to inject realism based on the Okinawa setting as well as X-Files-like conspiracy theory into the plot when the Chiroptera in the school was covered up with what seemed to be a cover up of a crime by an errant US soldier.
