Fate/Stay Night Curtain Raiser

Haven't played the game. Don't know much about the TYPE-MOON franchise (I get my info from The Moonlit World and bluemist). Was disappointed by the Tsukihime anime. But it's created such a buzz amongst the good and great of the anime blogging commuity (Garten, moyism, Omni et al) that I had to check out the curtain raiser.

And it was impressive. Most impressive.

A few quick impressions:

I don't have a good impression of Shirou - he gives me the feel of those loser-anime-guy- reluctant-hero but-chicks- still-dig-him types.
Fuji-nee is triggering my Oneesan Con. And thought her voice sounded familiar. And YES! it's Miki Itou who voices Shigure Asa sempai in SHUFFLE!
Nothing on the yuri radar for Rin x Saber, despite Jason's expectations. Yet. (^_-)_X
Character design looks awesome. Like the little touches like how Shirou/Saber and Rin/Archer are colour coordinated (blue/white and red/black respectively). Just kept thinking "Sohryu Asuka Langley" when I see Rin.
Even though I thought the idea of the different classes of servants were a tad clichéd, the implementation i.e. design and fighting scenes was impressive.
[Edit] Archer gets lots of stick for his Engrish but nobody seems to be applying that level of expectation to the very Japlish title of the series itself.
