Fate/Stay night 08

There is no doubt, Rin owns this show. The Pinch and the Tease are merely a couple of kawaii acts in her tsundere arsenal to capture hearts. Even the other lovely ladies have their charms channelled and amplified only through interacting with Rin. One such shining moment (the highlight of ep 8 for me) was Rin/Sakura's face-off.

7 eps on the Holy Grail War and none of them as gratifying as the 5 min Apron war in this ep. I was soooo glad that Sakura didn't do a Kotori and run off as in ep 7. (For that matter, I'm glad she didn't go Kaede either.) Like a girl worthy of Stripey's adoration, she stood her ground, declared war on the stronger and goes on to make dinner. (You go girl!) Many may dismiss Sakura's response as overracting and say, "Rin's got only the apron." But Sakura knows, if left unchecked, it may soon become, "Rin's got only the apron on...." Indeed, just as the TV remote is the symbol of control for men, the apron is the sceptre of female ownership in any household and certainly worth fighting for.

Ep 08 is a rather well balanced package. Although I enjoyed the ep largely for its harem fun, I was also drawn into the complicated conspiracy speculations in the first half. There was also plenty of character development between Saber and Shirou as they dispense with formalities to openly disagree/argue over the mode of engaging the War. (Both stubbornly stuck to their ideas and saw the other as foolish... ah yes we see the common trait that binds Master and Servant) I find it amusing too that Shirou would use his command seals to protect his chastity but not his life. This fellow has some pretty serious priority issues.

I'm still rooting for Sakura but with Rin coming on so strong, I'm not sure how long I can hold out against her charms.... :) Looking forward to more Rin/Sakura next ep.

    i…dont think sakura is over-reacting given my knowledge of how extreme a human behaviour can vary based on the condition they’re in.

    Besides, rin’s warning to sakura sounded more like a challenge to sakura.

    Anyway, I need episode 9.

    Actually yeah, Sakura was quite cool :) She easily deflected Rin’s killing blow and moved onto cooking dinner. Now to find an excuse for Sakura to move into Shirou’s house. :P

    I’m looking forward to ep 9 too though I doubt there will be much harem fun. :)

    i just realised the ED instrumental version is pretty serene sounding. An excellent teabreak music. Most excellent if like saber and co serves the tea.

    The OP is nice sounding too especially at the transition part where u see in anime live for someone let this moment count. Ah, falls into what i’ll call a “midnight” type music.

    If Sakura were smart, she’d start talking about how awesome Saber is to Rin. There’s no reason why they can’t both win.

    And then she’d put a car bomb on Rin’s car when Saber and Rin went out for drinks. Two birds with one stone/bomb.

    You’ve obviously not seen this week’s ep of Kashimashi -The alien, Sora Hitomi, with just the heart shaped apron on. Ohhh, my eyes they burn…

    Rin was a real pleasure to watch again but I do agree that Sakura is also coming on strong as she arguably handled Rin better than Taiga-nee.

    crimson: The ED’s very soothing indeed :) Although I suspect music is irrelevant when you have a bevy of beauties the likes of Rin/Sakura/Saber serving you tea :) I like the OP too.. it’s very suitable for Fate although I’m not sure your neighbours may like it as much during midnight :P

    Kabitzin: I believe it’s easier to poison them since she prepares their food. :P Although Zyl and many others out there would leap for joy if Sakura could convince Rin/Saber to go for ‘drinks’ :)

    Zyl: LOL!!! I’m not following Kashimashi.. but I concluded Sora Hitomi = male. :P I would go for lobotomy if I were you :)

    Xellos-_^: Yes, indeed. :) I can see the Holy Grail war take a total backseat as opposed to the sizzling Apron wars that break out nightly :P

    Nonono poison! Too suspicious. That’s why you have to get Saber and Rin all lovu lovu first, so they won’t suspect that Sakura would get revenge even after she has already Shirou to herself. And who would suspect Sakura of a car bomb, though? Or maybe drop a big rock on them to implicate Berserker, hmmm!

    Xellos’ idea makes me cry on the inside, mostly because I fear it’s the truth.

    Xellos-_^: I’m sooo looking forward to a culinary showdown… It would be interesting to discover our perfect lil Rin to be a chef from hell or see Saber destroy the kitchen while trying to slice carrots with her invisible blade. Man we need an Apron wars spin-off :)

    i didnt want to divulge this secret but for the benefit of everyone, i shall betray myself once:
    nice music + babes serving tea = wondrous afternoon

    As shown by the above formula, music is! relevant to the perceived babes present.
    think of music as your favourite mp3 in a mp3 player and babes as your creative sound blasters and tea is the wire link to deliver the impact of the music. Excellent.

    Stripy, Rin just move in and she already has the apron and that is Sakura’s territory. OF course she feels more threaten by Rin then Sabre. Also the fact that Sabre is also more formal doesn’t hurt.
