Fate/Stay night 10

Arrgghh! Sakura chan only appeared for 2 secs and said a 2 syllabic word this ep! Oh wait... that's an improvement over her non-appearance the last week.. ah well. Despite the lack of Sakura/action/harem-fun, I was very entertained by Saber's antics and Ilya's loli-sweetness in this installment of F/SN.

I'm sure loli-siscon fans rejoiced as ep 10 spent quality screentime on the sweet, shirt-tugging Ilya. I must admit I viewed Ilya with great suspicion initially. When she first appeared acting so saccharine, I thought Shirou is doomed for a 2nd death at her hands possibly via diabetes. The mental alarms blared even louder when she claimed, "I don't have any enemies." which extrapolates for me, "Because Berserker has them for supper." (Btw, I'm still trying to figure out what's Ilya/Berserker's common trait although both Kabitzin and Hasselich have offered some possibilities.) However, her innocent demeanour and love for taiyaki eroded my defenses rather quickly. Yes, I'm weak to taiyaki-loving-lolitas as Kurogane is to tsunderekkos. :) *Dreamy sigh* Yet another lovely anime personality to look forward to weekly.

Saber's real fun this ep too with her mini-lecture on nekkid-Servant-protocols. Since I have a little knowledge on the hero Saber is model after, I couldn't help but read the scene this way.... I also worry for Rider if this nekkid clause in found in the Servant's handbook, knowing how depraved Shinji is.

On another note, my thick numbskull finally deciphered this repeat scene to be Shirou's inability to power his 'magical circuit'. Bah! some engineer I am. I wonder if his future magical awakening would be symbolised by an exploding walnut SEED. (Which reminds me... the Matou siblings already have SEEDed eyes. Now if Sakura would only pwn Rin in a magical duel...:P)

Hoping for more harem fun next week. :)

    It’s amazing how little it takes to get through Shirou’s defenses – a simple lie, in Shinji’s case or a bit of snuggling on Ilya’s side and he’s just… well, it’s almost like he’s waiting to die at their hands. :D At least Rin saved his life once or twice, to prove she was trustworthy…

    Hasselich: I don’t blame Shirou for being weak to Ilya. Personally I also sense Ilya’s sincerity in engaging Shirou. Plus, she has that right balance of childlike playfulness and womanly gentleness that would dismantle any ill-feelings. Rin on the other hand, is such an intellectual superior (not to mention magically superior too) compared to Shirou that fear/suspicion on Shirou’s part is inevitable. :)

    Zyl: LOL! I don’t rem Chiyo as someone into taiyaki. :) Probably because I have never considered Chiyo a lolita…. :)

    yeah, i agree with you stripey. Illya’s sincere in some sense and its shirou’s nature to believe in others than to condemn them (which is a deadly flaw in today’s world unless you’re pfishing). Anyway, the part where shirou saw Illya as though he saw a monster was pretty well expressed :P
    Anything less than that is pretty inappropriate.

    lol, Illya was especially shiny in this episode..almost as shiny as Saber..only in a different manner. Wow, i wonder if the late night sleep reduced me to the state of being only to express my thoughts in a i-like-shinnny-objects sentences.

    Anyway, we get to see a innocent aspect of Illya. It appealed to me like the pureness of snow indeed.

    Archer’s being cool and somewhat merciless as usual. I just hope Archer continues to drill more common sense into shirou, hahaha. I see hope for shirou bcos he gets mad at archer’s comments instead of submitting to them.

    Yes, I’m pretty weak towards tsunderekko’s.My recent hots are really for the tsunderekko’s, like Shana, Tsubaki, Rin and etc. Perhaps I should claim the tsunderekko-lover spot before someone else takes it. :P .

    Kurogane: haha don’t worry, I believe it’s been conferred to you although we really should to check with Jason’s Main Office. :)

    Saria: haha yeah! That would certainly explain why Shirou ran off. :) Hmm, I had better stop dwelling on it if I still want to perceive Saber as a beautiful full-bodied female.. :)

    Zanzabar: LOL!!!! I just know this is Rin’s ploy to give Shirou haemorrhoids :)

    Zyl: ah thanks bro! That was a very very wonderful ep in Azu. Chiyo in the penguin suit. :) And yes you are right again, Ilya’s more lolicious than a lolita. Azu is one anime I can NEVER associate anything sexual with the characters (not that I actively do that for anime characters). Whereas since F/SN originates from a hgame, the character designs themselves would carry that tinge of sexuality and the animators would inevitable tap a little into that class of allure. :) That reminds me that I need to lay off HGtAs :)

    Hasselich: Thanks for the very detailed character analysis! :) I totally agree with you on Shirou giving Shinji too much leeway. Either Shirou’s too magnanimous or just plain unguarded but to meet Shinji alone after his Servant just tried to kill him or to hug the lolita whose Servant actually DID kill him is foolhardy to say the least. Of course, it’s hard to resist Ilya’s lolicious charms, I would probably have done the same too. :) And nah, I don’t think Berserker would touch Ilya’s precious onii-chan, ne? :)

    Actually, Berserker DID touch Ilya’s precious onii-chan, which is why she decided to dismiss him and leave, claiming the battle bored her. I suspect he’d happily ‘touch’ Shirou many, many times with that huge weapon of his – and I meant the one he was trying to kill Saber with, not the one that Hercules reputedly nearly killed many a maiden with. Still, Ilya did REALLY nicely in manipulating Shirou – and it wasn’t always with bad intentions, since she did warn him at the very beginning that he should summon his Servant unless he wanted a quick death. Which, thanks to Lancer, he DID get… Remember that Berserker is notoriously hard to control, which makes Ilya’s mastery of such a beast all the more forbidding as far as Rin is concerned.

    Still, Shirou’s probably the only Master there who Ilya could approach at anything close to a normal situation; Rin’s too suspicious and deadly, Shinji would either kill her or jump her (I could say more about why, but that’d spoil the game) if not both, Lancer’s Master would probably kill Ilya due to the fact she IS a Master, ditto Caster’s (and of course, Assassin’s).. Shirou’s the only one left out of that lot who she could walk up to, sans Berserker, without risking instant death or molestation.

    Besides, this IS a harem show, so they need to show Shirou with yet another female… if only to drive the females in his harem somewhat crazy later. (Sakura: “Sempai, why are you doing this?” Taiga: “Ehhhh? You’re bringing home yet ANOTHER gaijin, and a child at that?” Rin: “Shirou, this was a horrible idea. Why didn’t you consult me? She’s one of the biggest dangers to you in the city!” Saber: “This was unwise, Master.”).

    well, saber’s looking stern as usual. And i bet in the first few episodes alot of words during her conversation with shirou was filtered out with her innate chat filter, lol.

    Crimson: haha! honestly even for an English girl like Saber, I believe she needs to invent new vocabulary to describe Shirou’s occasional idiocy. :P

    Xellos-_^: I’m with you on this! Who need the Holy Grail when I have the heavenly girls! Maybe FATE has one of those reset scenarios where the girls die one by one but are ressurected for eternal harem bliss via the Grail…. sign me up for the War! :)

    Please, leave circuits out! I’ve never thought that one day I would find myself on the street gazing at slowly melting ice layers under the spring sun, indented by tiny brooks, thinking: ANISOTROPIC ETCHING and trying to mark out the cristallographic planes and directions. The moment later I realize that this is no wafer after all… Does that alone make me a promising engineer or a hopeless daydreamer, I wonder…

    LOL! It’s a sign of severe solid state poisoning! I myself always have associated food with device fabrication. Everytime I see a roti prata (crispy Indian pancakes with curry) I think of photoresist spin coating. I would like to think we are aspiring process engineers haha! :)

If we consider reality with a different angle, in extreme environment, a new and unimaginable non-natural aspect (112) will manifest itself. That would be Art. But hell if one day I get a (113) I’ll instantly know I’m an anime series character now.

    Aghhh! T.T I really really really want to see this anime now, but i have no clue how to do that without buying it. T.T does anyone know how to do it leagally? ^.^ I have a divix player and a windows, that’s it sadly. T.T If anyone can help me out i would be eternally grateful!

    ps. I have tons of pictures by now, and by conclusion of those as well as the information on the story I have come to believe that Caster and Rider will be my two favs. ^^ The only way to tell will be for me to watch it.
