I'm so excited now I wanted to marathon through KyoAni's 24 ep Kanon already! haha.. I suspect it would be rather torturous to wait for that weekly ep of Kanon come Fall 2006 :P Sanity over-rated: Yes, I share your slight apprehension initially too... too many eps may dilute the potency of the stories...
