   lolikitsune/torpy: Thanks…. *wipes tears* thanks for pulling me from the edge of anime hell that is Ichigo 100%. I have long wanted to pick up the manga. Loved the character designs/art but really hated Madhouse’s poor animation.

   Yes, read the manga instead. It’s a wonderful manga (although a bit too long and drawn out) and is a much better waste of time than listening to the crappy VAs watching the crappy animation.

    greyscalefuzz: Oh you caught this series too? Thanks for the caution. With all these feedback, I’ll probably steer clear of finishing the series. Which is a shame really since I really like Tsukasa in the anime.

    lolikitsune/Xello-_^: Thanks for pointing me to the source. I saw a panel of the manga and the artwork is gorgeous. Will pick it up soon. Incidentally, it was the panel showing Manaka’s final girl of choice. Shocking but unbelievably sweet for me who’s smitten with her.

    Awwwww, give it up. Besides, they’re 16 now. Just go buy all the Hinoi Team CD+DVD sets and you’ll get all their silly but fun videos (including the scary ones with the singing wrestler they’ve collaborated with. Its simple fun euro-j-pop… and they’re cute.

    cdjapan has them all last I looked.

    sorry about double post.. yes, anime sucked bad after interesting set up….. animation bad…. plot line… there was no plot line or progress — just stupid lame hijinks. The OVAs were drawn better but plot went even worse.

    The manga….. chapter after chapter of yo-yo stupidity by Manaka until you wished all the girls just strangled him, threw him in that lake and went out for karaoke and beer on their own. Word is that the studio canceled the series and the ending is an epilogue “solution” … except there was never any progress to it…. might as well have flipped a coin.

    The only positive to this series is that I liked Satsuki and, mostly, Hinoi Team is now my favorite silly “summer music”.

    Haha yeah I enjoyed night of fire too in spite of wrestler dude in the music video. Maybe they looked so good in that MV because of his presence.

    As for the manga… hmmm that’s one of my fears since there’s a tendency for harem series (especially long-running manga) to take the readers for a ride via the flip-flopping, indecisive protagonists. Will probably just pick up book 1 and see if I can stomach it. Thanks for the advance warning.

    Stripey: yah, I caught some even lousier anime some time back when I was hunting for new stuff to watch. Ichigo 100% just tipped the scale at being ecchi and too silly (I kinda like the first couple of OVAs though).

    Stripey: I figured out the wrestler’s name is Koriki … a “performance” wrestler who actually won a singing contest. The guy can actually sing (a few of the cuts on Hinoi’s albums have him singing lead like “Yeah, Yeah”0. According to Mainichi News, he’s an example of the latest fad in Japan: “gurokawai” meaning “grotesquely cute” or “oddly cute”.

    I don’t know… The anime really really sucked… But the manga seems to have people split into 2 camps… some like vexx think it as completely boring and repetitive, but I thought it was one of the best I have ever read. Really thought the chrarcter development was genius for a relatively short number of chapters.

    Of course, there is alot of fanservice and some of it completely unneccessary but on the other hand alot of it important for Satsuki’s character.

    And the conclusion was really really sweet. Makes me sound a little sissy but that’s what I think.
