Kanon ~ 2nd PV
Somebody stop me before I get out to steal taiyaki and headbutt the next pretty young thing that comes along.......
Deep breaths man, deep breaths.
I swear anime is bad for my mental health. (*removes red hair-band*) Kanon's 2nd PV induced a bishoujo high unprecendented since the days of AIR. While the first PV gave a foretaste of breathtaking animation and superb art direction, the 2nd PV focused on the impeccable charm of the Kanon girls and I now worship KyoAni for reconciliating bishoujo heaven with mortal men.
Let's now be still and bask in the unfettered beauty of the Kanon girls.
Tsukimiya Ayu

Such unbridled efferverscence. Ayu simply takes 'kawaii' to a whole new dimension. Because of her, I get this warm fuzzy feeling every time my fiancee headbutts me. I think it's called love.
Kawasumi Mai

I'm actually a little concerned. Mai occupies little of this PV and I certainly hope it would not be representative of her airtime in the series. I rank her tale right after Ayu's and Makoto's and am praying to anime deities her story gets the full treatment it deserves.
Misaka Shiori

I melted, just like the clump of snow nestling in quiet bliss on Shiori's hair as she sat there with that disarming vulnerability. Despite being fully aware that it's Shiori's very beauty that hastens its demise, Snow-Clump kun rejoices and thanks Snowflake Providence for not only allowing the blessed encounter but also provding a divine chance to partake in her glorious beauty. I have never wanted so much to be a snow clump in my life.
Sawatari Makoto

The very best of Sawachika Eri and Asuka Langley Sohryu combined. Classic tsunderekko. I was on the verge of tears when her tale concluded in Toei's Kanon. I think I'll cry buckets this time.
Minase Nayuki

Although compared to the other Kanon girls, Nayuki's kind of bland but her status as Kanon girl automatically confers her a charm that far exceeds the typical anime bishoujo. For the benefit of siscon-fledgings who have yet to graduate to sisters, Nayuki's a cousin in Kanon.
Fall better come before this taiyaki-thieving tanuki gets caught. uguu.

Wow, a blogger who doesn’t moan about Kanon being remade to the point of being the blogger’s proverbial dead horse he/she continuiously whips. I am impressed.

Is there an .avi version for this trailer?
I eagerly await for this Kanon remake for one reason. Mai. Mai as animated by Kyoto Animation.

Nothing on Miyuki’s mom? She is a Hot MILF. I demand more MILF.

Xellos: You mean Akiko. Minase Akiko. Foo.
I pity da foo who doesn’t know Minase Akiko.
Also, moar Akiko’s jam.

mikemil828: I will probably hype about Kanon-remake to the point of it being the proverbial horse on the other end of the spectrum.
DrmChsr0: I choose jam. Just see what a fine specimen of a woman Nayuki turned out to be having been brought up on “actually-i-forgot-her-name-too” jam….
However, if Barret-san has ammo count like its FF7 namesake, that’s a whole different story.
Skane: I lifted mine off TokyoTosho. You can try there.
For this remake, I hath my eye on Shiori. While I know they are very different, she somehow oozes Kano vibes (my fav char in AIR).
XelloS^_-: Let me quote Hung, “I just like cute. little. girls.”
Head over to my good brother Zyl for your buffet of MILF.
You’ll only find SILF… oh no I didn’t say that….

I thought the trailer was awful.
July 18th, 2006 - 11:01
Oh.. hmm in what way? too many abrupt changes?
July 18th, 2006 - 11:18
Hm… I don’t know anything about Kanon. But: I found the animation very disappointing, the colors too weird (characters and background didn’t match at all, in my eye), and it seemed like a typical harem show I hate.
July 18th, 2006 - 11:46
Ah ic… have you seen AIR? Cos I believe KyoAni’s Kanon would have AIR class animation. If you didn’t like AIR’s animation, chances are KyoAni’s vibrant style is not your cup of tea.
As for the haremesque feel, I assure you Kanon is no regular harem series even though many of the girls like the protagonist.
It has touching stories with a few twists and endearing characters not seen elsewhere. Again, I understand of course that might not float everyone’s boat either. But come Fall, do give it 2 eps before deciding. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t be disappointed.

Yeah, I’ve seen Air, and yes, I didn’t like the style very much… That’s just me I guess.
I’ll sure give it more than 2 eps… just because it’s KyoAni. Maybe I’m just frustated with the fact that they stopped Haruhi for it…

speaking f sis-cons, I am suprise stripy never did a review of kagihime.
July 18th, 2006 - 20:57
Quajafrie: I’m sure we’ll have a 2nd season of Haruhi. Can’t wait for that myself too.
mikemil828: Yes, I believe it’s KyoAni’s first full season series, discounting all the other collorations that is.
XelloS^_- : Oh yes! Thanks for reminding me of Kagihime. Grabbing them now. Although from what little I heard of the ending, it doesn’t seem to finish well.
July 18th, 2006 - 21:39
As for the Haruhi camp being selfish I have no problem with Kanon interrupting one of the few joys left in my life. After Haruhi ended the world seemed to literally turn to shit… Well if I end up in Syria, Iran, or Lebanon then I may start an anime blog while waiting for the day the Jews and Muslims can chill, but such is life. Nevertheless I demand that my money spent on Haruhi goodness at Kinokuniya be used for that second season rather than Kanon.
While Stripey is undergoing another baptism of sis-con with these beasts wolfing down Takiyaki and weeping over touching stories to appeal to the new love of his life. lolis, I now have a wonderful compliation of enemies. It also helps that since almost all small boats in DHS have some sort of 7.62mm LMG it makes 1149ing ammo more easier for the siege, not to mention less work for those wanted posters, guess I’ll drop the alive part…
Still I may pick this up if only to mock it and learn of the conspirators who have delayed my second season.
July 19th, 2006 - 06:01
LOL! Well, Crusader, I have plenty of faith in the charms of Kanon girls. Maybe by ep 2 you’d be swallowing 7.62s to keep ‘uguu’ from escaping your lips
Gao.

Hey, hey, hey! Not all SHaruhi fans are blaming/heckling the Kanon remake.
I for one, am embracing it.

Yes Skane, I look forward to the day where Coralians and humans, naturals and coordinators live under the one lordship of KyoAni.
KyoAni no tameni.

The music…the MUSIC! does anyone know the name of that song in the second half of the preview? Good lord I want that track…too catchy!
July 23rd, 2006 - 12:32
I enjoyed the song tremendously too. Hmm will post should I discover the title.

I’m greatly looking forward to the new Kanon. (I even have the PC version of the game, but haven’t played it yet…I’m still 30+ vols (wherer a vol is 4 episodes) behind in watching fansubs and domestic released material. I still need to acquire Strawberry Panic and the Da Capa sets, though). It remains one of my favorite renai games to anime. Okay, I also need to learn more kanji, and finish the other games I have, like Kana Little Sister
I must say, that my three favorite girls in order of dulia granted to them are
Shiori (she was the first capsule figurine I ever bought)
Naiyuki
Ayu..
Though Shiori is for me the most adorable of the girls, I think Naiyuki would have made a better girlfriend.
