Max Factory 1/8 seifuku Shirakawa Kotori

Shirakawa Kotori invokes the most intense of emotions in me. Her gentle-kindness, selfless consideration for others and tremendous beauty in body/soul has forever enslaved my heart. Yet I weep for her poor choices in DCSS and anguish over the desecration of her perfect shoujo-kokoro by Junichi's detestable siscon idolatry. And it's this amaglmation of deep lament and fierce affections that gives birth to my staunch, unadulterated love for Kotori. Truly, I love her with ALL of my anime heart and know that no anime character, past/present/future would be able to take her place.

And since the realm of love is not a matter of talk but action, here's my latest figure purchase as a fragrant offering to this bishoujo-goddess.

Ah the glorious beauty of Kotori, undiluted by her transmigration from the 2D realm to the 3D world. In typical harem setting of short short skirts and windy worlds, we have the genki Kotori presumably sighting Junichi resulting in both the fluttering of her skirt/moe moe ribbons and her shoujo heart.

Her summoner (Max Factory) has to be a mage of the highest class. The seifuku is sooo intricately crafted. I particularly enjoy how the seifuku is stretched towards her raised arm. The buttons and ribbons are also finely sculpted. Even her bootlaces are applied precisely. The overall finishing is clean and the paintjob is superb. Although my only gripe would really be the eyes. It's beautifully painted no doubt but it seems to lack that depth of gaze at certain angles. In other words, at some angles, she comes across as looking as if she's not seeing. Well, maybe I'm nitpicking, but hey, Kotori deserves ONLY the best, yah?

Overall a very VERY worthy avatar of our anime goddess for S$60 and a MUST-have for all Kotori fans.

  1. You sure have strange tastes in women!! Or girls for that matter.

  2. Kotori!

    ~Yippee-aidi-a-O!~

If they ever made a Da Capo fighting game, I would play as Kotori and beat up Nemu over and over again…

  3. So stripey, how’s your wallet coming along?

  4. Heh, now we know where did Nanaka’s awesome moe genes came from.

And I sense extreme levels of Kotori love in that figure review. :D

  5. I been wondering where stripy was the last week. Suold have know he was spending time with the latest in his harem.

While i like the figurine doesn’t kotori look a bit flat compare to her anime ver?

I found this over in AS. Anyone got 5k to spare?

  6. tj han: LOL! Oops, I’ve always thought the anime fanboy realm was sharply divided into 3, Rei fanboys, Kotori fanboys and others. :P

Skane: WAHAHAHA! oh man! Actually I blame Aisia for the mess that’s DCSS. She really ruined Kotori’s chances. Myself, I’d use Sakura to lay the smackdown on Aisia in a loli face-off. Maybe we’ll see its dojin game in C71? :)

    Tsubaki: It need resucitating. :P

meganeshounen: Oohh yes, I’m really looking forward to a DCII anime focusing on Yume and Nanaka’s tracks (if they are miscible that is) :)

XelloS^_-: Oh oops! My love for Kotori has blinded me from yet another slight blemish. This figure’s facial features do come across as a little flat because her nose is not prominent enough. Very sharp Xellos indeed! :)

And 1/1 Saber is… scary.. though she wouldn’t freak me out as much as those who actually acquire her… :P

  7. The all seeing eye of Nauzron is on the move. The Nine have left Minas Main Office and crossed the Fords of Isen on midsummers eve. They will find the one who has the PVC and kill him.

Using Sakura eh? Your meido-loli-sis-con license shall be upgraded accordingly for the lolicious idea.

I really thought that Kotori would have been the first PVC you would buy, but seeing how she is not, your intentions are in doubt and your insolence after recieving the one ring shall be your undoing. Stripey’s love of Kotori is about as great as the 150 lbs. of chewed bubble gum named Junichi, just another tally in his harem… No doubt you’ll blame everything on shipping lag.

Still I would have liked to see Kotori walking over a severely beaten Nemu. Her boots are made for walking and that’s what they’ll do. One of these days those boots are going to walk all over Nemu.

Stripey’s wallet LOL! He probaly had PVC put on as a deductible on his paycheck and he thinks that he can put up a defense against Kotori-san’s telepathy…

  8. Nice review. My favourite angle besides straight front has to be from the rear where the term “short skirts” really gets the credit it deserves. For a figure like this, I wish I had a rotating stand.

  9. Making a rotating stand from the supplied stand is simple enough, if you are willing to spend some time tinkering with a Tamiya motor and gears( either bought from a hardware store, or if you are desperate, from Lego).

  10. Crusader: Ahh she really shouldn’t have.. after all we’d be dining at Baradur later this evening plus I’d prefer a limo actually. :) And unlike the fable ring which melts only in Mount Doom, PVC Kotori goes soft easily in Singapore sun. So she’s staying safely hidden in Shire.

The upgrade’s great! Do I get more figure discounts with it? :)

Saviour: Thanks! The fluttering skirt is very alluring indeed. But to prevent my male visitor friends from ravaging her, I’d pass on the rotating stand.. maybe until I get that bullet proof glass cabinet :P

Skane: Thanks for the ideas. :) As mentioned, I’d probably pass on it since besides the problem of drooling friends, the setting up of a figure altar may not sit well with a few at home. :P

  11. I see a harem of beautiful bishoujos surrounding Stripey, while he tries to restrict his spending, lest he makes his wallet suffer more. XD

  12. i knew u wld eventually get her… hahaha but i didn’t… resisted the urge… i saw her sitting at the the only toy shop in perth(mind u the only shop that carries this sadly which gives them complete control over prices) kotori was going for AUD$75 Ouch!~!!. and then i realised since i already have swimsuit kotori(haha something that you guys will probably not be able to get since it is like 3-4 yrs ago), might as well do without seifuku kotori although it pains me not to get her :(

Well, I am pretty sure stripey will go for nanaka and yume as well. they are releasing later on this year. heh I am waiting for Otome though. Otome FTW!!!

  13. Ronin: This must be a test by the figure gods! Must. resist….. XD

cyw1988: LOL! You really got me figured out! :P Actually I have Yume on pre-order already. Probably not getting Nanaka though, one eyed winks unbalance facial composition. :) Myself, I’m looking forward to an Anzu figure. :P
