May the Goth be loli

I figured there's no better way to get over Gretel's death than to immerse oneself fully in goth-loli culture/fashion and as with any new-age spiritual journeys, it begins with wikipedia.
After reading the wiki on lolita fashion, I realised, before meido, there was loli. That I loved the meido uniform because I had first loved the pink frills of the sweet-loli and the dark laces of the goth-loli. It was indeed a rude awakening to know that that my appreciation of the french maid was a subset of my love for the loli-dress. Hence, to make up for my long neglect of goth-loli passions, I trawled recent anime memories for notable goth-lolis only to
come up with 5 names. (I knew I should have caught the Coyote ragtime show.)
Anju Marker (Karin) - Lolicious vampire imouto who's hotter than her well-endowed sister
Gretel (Black Lagoon 2) - Lolicious gun-toting psychopath with an angelic countenance/voice
Fujinami Tomoko (Canvas 2) - Lolicious sickly tsundere with impeccable tastes in goth-lingerie.
Sugintou (Rozen Maiden Traumend) - Lolicious ex-junkie whom I want to see win the Alice game.
Wreathlit (Brighter than dawning blue) - Lolicious nekomimi (?) whom I don't know much about yet.
With the exception of Wreathlit, all gothlolis are my favourite characters in their respective series despite being mere supporting characters. The power of goth indeed.
Since no initiation of anime fetish is complete without a pilgrimage to the sacred land of Great Art, Danbooru, I braved the evils of the tentacle rape and fapped-to figures to obtain the following gothic relics.

I believe with this, my journey to the Goth side is finally complete. May the Goth be loli.

Indeed more goths here than in the local drama club. Still dosen’t this sort of goth entail a macabre interest in death as well as all that frilly fippery?
Ah, well a coping mechanism is a coping mechanism. The only RL Goths I find interesting were the ones who invaded the Roman Empire, not emo and not frilly. Good lUck on trying to convince Nauzron that this is a good thing, if nothing else you will have something most fitting to wear in your casket…

Where’s my Petite Cossette? And let’s not forget the new Goth Loli Sisters in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge.

Since you are willing to brave the horror that is Danbooru, something which I am, as yet, unwilling to do, could you venture forth and return with more loot?

Illya wasn’t goth….she was merely loli
October 30th, 2006 - 13:56
Well, to be fair, Ilya has the castle and other trappings… but she didn’t dress in the Gothic style. Russian princess, but not Gothic.
October 30th, 2006 - 15:38
Yay, I love you!
Tomorrow I am dressing up as a loli in school for halloween, wearing one of my pink lolita dresses that looks fit for a 5 year old. XD
At night I’m going to be a gothloli princess. :3 And my friend is borrowing my alice in wonderland gothloli dress for tomorrow at her job.
But yay… *instantly saves haruhi gothloli picture* Why did Yuki have to be stuck in one of those ugly patterned dresses though. ; __ ;

Be thankful to whichever god/s that you pray to that you didn’t catch the Coyote Ragtime Show…even 12 goth-loli sisters (well October/November/December were just loli) and 1 gothic mother can’t make it float…

With the exception of Suigintou, Gretel, and Wreathlit, the rest are also my favourites from their respective series. Hmm… other Goth-Loli in anime?

Xellos-_^: heh, I’m with SomeGuy and Hasselich on this. Russian loli
Crusader: LOL! I would have insisted on a goth gown on our wedding if not for the supposed inauspicious overtones it brings. XD
kacpy: Ah I need to catch Petite cossette and YNSH soon. I hear Tsukuyomi has goth elements too?
Stormelemental13: Certainly! Here’s another 3 to tide us all by before I make my next run. May the goth be with us.

SomeGuy/Hasselich: Wished Ilya had gone goth though, she’d be the only goth imouto I know. Hmm wait is Chikage of SisPri considered?
Tess: Wah! You are living the goth dream!
You can be sure I be looking out for goth lolis on the streets tonight. Maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll be bitten by Evangeline tonite XD You have fun!

would anyone be able to tell me who all these girls are/what they are from?
I know Tessa, Haruhi and Sugintou. But I can’t think of who any of the other girls are.
October 30th, 2006 - 22:34
The two girls on the right of Tessa are Tomoko (Canvas2) and Konomi (To Heart 2) respectively. The girl below the Haruhi poster is Eve from Black Cat. Other than Sugintou, the rest seem to be non-anime characters.
Would be glad if anyone would enlighten us too.

Great category!
But how could you to forget the nekomimi-loli-vampire Hazuki from TSUKUYOMI Moon Phase? She’s the essence of goth-loli!

GOTH! GOTH! LOLI! LOLI!

ojisan: Oh yes! the lovely Kaoruko and Sumireko! Pity there’s not nearly enough airtime for them.
Mayu: I wept tears of joy too when I went thru the goth section on Danbooru XD
tj han: Set lah! Downloading now
Gilberto I.S.: Thanks for the affirmation!
I read elsewhere too that Hazuki’s the embodiment of all that is goth-loli. Will sink my fangs into it soon
Enz: Your enthusiasm compels me to brave danbooru once more for goth-lolis. Here’s our reward.

Most of the Gothic-Lolita pictures on Danbooru are classified under the tag, “Gothic”. About 28 pages of them, the last time I checked.
This one is one of my favourites. Girl with knife is almost always an automatic win in my book. The sad eyes, the potential psycho-moe, etc…
Cheers.
November 1st, 2006 - 01:19
Thanks for the highlight Skane.
”gothloli” or ”gosurori” gets you a smaller selection than ”gothic” on Danbooru indeed.
I would prefer ”girl with knife” over say ‘girl with katana” too. The former has a quiet sort of helpless-desperation that screams psycho-moe
November 1st, 2006 - 10:40
I prefer the girls with the katana. The are very predictable. They try maintain that cool under pressure composure but they are easy to mess with. And they are so cute and helpless once you manage to knock them out of that composure. My favorite example (Vexx would agree) would be Mokoto form Love Hina.
On the Other Hand girls with knives are less predictable. You have no idea what they use that knife for. They can pull a lorena bobbit on you with that knief. At least with the sword you get more warning.

Thank you for the pics Stripey. Does anyone know how to get the good pictures on Danbooru while avoiding the smut?
November 1st, 2006 - 19:15
Aye… I’m more of the katana-miko school (Motoko, Mai, etc) but glad to see you caught Tomoko from Canvas 2 …. hmmm, not seeing Hazuki from Tsukuyomi Moon Phase (or her little sister).
I suppose Nagato Yuki might qualify as a closet goth-loli (she was so bad at it
with her hat and cape..).
November 1st, 2006 - 19:18
I’d love to edit my post but no such option….. avoid the gothloli girls in Yamato…. Henge. They’re ugly, unpleasant, and I’m not sure what the director is trying to say with them — worse, they’r apparently the equivalent of Pokemon Team Rocket in the series (here and gone).
November 1st, 2006 - 19:35
I too wish I could edit my posts. It is true that the gothloli in Yamato are hideous, but Sunako isn’t half bad, sometimes.
November 1st, 2006 - 19:40
To Xellos-_^
But Ice Queens are not my thing. ^^; I have two main fetishes when it comes to anime girls. Psycho-moe and the strong silent types( Yuki, Yakumo, Tomoko, etc…).
Rei does not qualify in the latter category because I do not view her as strong. Honestly speaking, I never found Rei likeable in NGE. Misato was the girl to root for.

Xellos-_^ : LOL! Indeed, a knife is much easier to conceal than a 3 foot blade. But I guess that why knife-wielding sweeties-turned-pscyho are so exciting to watch.
Stormelemental13: You’re most welcome. Sorry I don’t know a sanitised path through Danbooru myself
vexx: Hehe, thanks for the Yamato goth loli warning. I will proceed with extreme caution XD But chances are if they are ugly, not amount of goth-loliciousness is going to keep my interest.
Skane: Ah strong/silent type. But it surely was odd to see Yuki, Yakumo and Tomoko lumped into the same class. Each gives me very different vibes despite being less verbal.
November 2nd, 2006 - 12:19
Skane: To each thier own.
but imo the ice queen are much more lovable and cute once you break them>..> i mean thaw them. It so much more fun teasing them since they are so serious all the time. =D
Stripey: it is cute unitl the turn lorena bobbit on you. You just hope the doctors can attach it back in time. Althought they do make great little sisters through.
November 2nd, 2006 - 20:56
In Yamoto.Henge, the main character is more truely gothy than the poseur quad-gothlolis that annoy me everytime they’re onscreen (thankfully brief). Sunako is gorgeous and gothy but she thinks she’s ugly and the inner feelings project (plus its a sort of “My Fair Lady” thing in the show.. the four guys have to clean her up to win a bet for free room&board).
Tomoko from Canvas 2 is probably my fave those she’s more “perky goth loli” I guess. When her and another character Hagino are onscreen they rate an entire series just for their hijinks.
November 5th, 2006 - 04:32
an inspirational post!!! bwahhahaa
Speaking of goth loli’s anyone checked out the maido cafe at Far East plaza yet?

Sends telepathic command waves to anime producers to give us “The Further Adventures of Tomoko and Hagino” … ohmmmmmm.
November 7th, 2006 - 02:02
Xellos-_^ : LOL! I’m not sure I would like a psycho-moe sister. Living under the same roof with such a specialised class of bishoujo is probably too exciting for me. XD Could you send the link again? doesn’t seem to be working. Thanks
vexx: ohhh I would LOVE a Hagino/Tomoko OVA spin-off. Frankly I thought they were much more colourful than Kirino and Elise. Hmmm perky goth… I like… XD
cyw1988: Is it open yet?
The last I hear they were recruiting… 18 yrs and above… We need an joshikousei arubaito culture in Singapore! XD

Awesome-ness,loli is my style! I always dress goth or punk, with an EGL touch, but it’s tough finding loli clothes in Michigan. Anyway, I was just wondering who those three girls are next to the Haruhi poster?
June 10th, 2008 - 08:19
Great fashion choice!
I’m not sure who the 3 girls are. Stole the pics from some imageboard
June 17th, 2008 - 08:33
this is a very cool site
June 27th, 2008 - 18:51
These are all horrible examples of lolita fashion. These are at best the artist and producers imagining of sexy lolita inspired characters to attract the fanboys. If anyone were to dress up like these characters and call themselves lolitas they would be laughed at as another otaku in cosplay.
