Mai Otome Zwei 4

Despite all my bellyaching about Mai HiME's reset ending and the trashiness of Mai Otome, I still have a big soft spot for Mai Tokiha. Not least because she is my favourite Mai Nakahara role; I just can't resist her boing... I mean voice.

Hello Ers-chan! That was a pleasant surprise. A great plot trigger for getting Nina out of her funk.

Speaking of whom, Nina is soooo much more likeable when she's not obsessing over Sergey. And somehow Arika has become a lot less annoying too - gotta love Mashiro's comment about how her Otome has been busy developing her bust. LOL

In summary, Zwei has been *gasp* quite enjoyable. The wonders of low expectations leading to happiness? A fairly decent ending where the mystery is explained and most of the loose threads tied up in an un-SUNRISE-like fashion? While retaining yuri fanservice and the great music?

Of course, could have had MOAR Nao-oneesama but I guess she was MVP in Zwei Ep 3 already.

In other news, Akane gets a pretty raw deal as usual. LOL

    Yeah~

    I miss Mai too…And Mikoto of course…

    I find myself going back to the first season to get more of the two…Sigh…The irony!

    I was also happy to see that Mai and Mikoto are still living happily together…

    These two seriously need a great adventure fic to tackle all that time they spent in the Valley!

    I’ll have to agree with you. Mai was such a fun character in Hime (Mai Nakahara helps) plus she has that charisma that the main cast in otome lack. Arika, Mashiro and Nina weren’t as dynamic and compact as Mai, Natsuki and Mikoto. Plus when everything started to fall apart in Otome around episode 16 it didn’t have that heart, that raw emotion found in Hime, and no its not because we’ve seen it coming, heck *SPOILER* Idolmaster at around episode 17 does it so much better. lol I was worried this wouild turn into a hate otome post..and it kind of did I apologize. Well heres hoping the next Mai-hime/Otome show falls Hime’s storyboarding.

    Mai-Otome should have follow the manga and the Dark Mai-Hime characters vs the Mai-Otome characters.

    Demon Eyes, yeah – love all the times when Mikoto declares that Mai belongs to her and then buries her face in Mai’s mammaries to emphasis her point.

    Ivy, agree with you completely – Mai was *fun* and the most fun characters in Otome IMHO were still from the old cast Natsuki and Nao. Have to say that the latter got a much better deal in Otome.

    Xellos-_^, hmmm… I haven’t read the manga, mainly because the premise that the Mashiro character is a guy impersonator in drag rather put me off it.
