[Artbook] Girls girls girls! E*2 Illustration collection

Seeing my Kinokuniya cash voucher to be expiring in a couple of weeks, I waltzed into an outlet yesterday, eager to expend the coupon. And so here it is, my prize from the expedition - Girls girls girls! ~ E*2 illustration collection.

I know little of the E2 (etsu) magazine except that it's heavy on bishoujo content which is right at home with the tanuki. Featuring artwork from Tony Taka, Tinkle and many more artists whose kanji names eludes me, this book is the perfect anthological resource to the bigwigs in the Japanese bishoujo art scene.

With 118 pages of bishoujo goodness (80 vibrantly colored), this collection is a MUST-HAVE for lovers of bishoujo art. More information on the collection here. Btw even if it's listed as a "hentai art book", there's really nothing lewd about the collection. Some near-nudes but all beautifully and elegantly presented. Definitely art not porn.

Now to figure out the kanji names of some 70 odd artists to dig further into their publications. Meanwhile, here's a sampling my favourite illustrations in the book.

  1. This question is a bit personal, but I just have to ask. What does the wife say when she sees you bring home these things?

  2. I expect that many torturous days in Angband will you spend for this incident. Well at least you will have died a reasonably happy man before being brought back in a state of undeath bound to her will.

  3. Wow, I kept seeing this book but never gave it a second glance. Now however, you’ve already managed to catch my interest. So much pretty artwork! *-* Will definitely consider purchasing it soon.

  4. Amazing find Stripey, the artworks are stunning and I really can’t see this as a hentai artbook.

I’m guessing your wife is use to you bringing these things home and won’t even take a second glance at it.

  5. I’ve seen this plenty of times in Kinokuniya and have wondered if I should buy it or not. Perhaps on my next trip there.

  6. Beowulf Lee: Heh, she tells me outright if it’s a worthy purchase or not based on the artwork. Same for figures :)

Crusader: LOL! Well, nothing escapes her fiery eye at least. XD Her penchant picking out the flaws/weakness in my figures is legendary. Which is one she is one of my key advisers when it come to PVC purchase :)

Shavelle/Adun: It’s a great buy indeed! Though do get a preview at Kino first before committing the moolah. The mileage for bishoujo art, I’ve learn, varies quite widely :)

holyman282: Heh, actually I make it a point to make sure she does so that she can ascribe worth to my purchase. In other words, I like to be commend for good buys (not that it happens a lot XD)

  7. You’ve posted a sample of your favorite pics, but I’m wondering what a sampling of your *least* favorite pics would be. Inquiring minds want to know!

  8. LOL! Yeah, that important too after all it comes with the package :) Here’s 4 of my least favourite. But not because they’re ugly per se. Probably just not my preferred art style :P
