Myself; Yourself 11 – Simply brilliant

And here I was wondering how they are going to resolve so many storythreads in 3 eps. With a genius stroke of shocking Hoshino, we now have the Shuu/Shuri and Hoshino's tales wrapped up, in a dramatic and touching manner to boot. I knew the Nakahara Mai role was more than meets the eye but this surely exceeds expectations. Now that leaves us 2 eps to tackle Nanaka and Sana's backstories.
Incidentally, as the resident siscon (imouto sect) on Hontouni blogs, I'd like to say that Shuu/Shuri have a wonderful relationship that RL siblings should learn to emulate. Call them siscon/brocon, anything but the degradatory incest/twincest and credit them with the respect they deserve. Here is a sacrificial love worthy of song and praise.
Time to reshuffle the M;Y bishoujo rankings and hoping they can squeeze a little Hinako goodness in the remaining episodes.

Even though I know that Asami is a pretty dark character, I don’t see her having the hots for Shuri at all. Based on the information I’ve gathered, I concluded that she likes Shuri because her cheerful characteristics. Well, basically Asami hates herself out of her self-complexity towards Nanaka.
Now that Shuri and Shuusuke is out of the picture, and Asami has met her uses, the remaining ones are Nanaka, Hinako, and Aoi. They could turn another biggest trainwreck of the year by making Aoi as the Arson (which I hoped not, since it would make the whole story ridiculous). Well Aoi might not have much screen time either way, so that leaves us with Nanaka and Hinako. If the anime producers are the same kind of lolicon as you guys are, then they would make Nanaka lose her mind out of her trauma, and make Sana ends up with Hinako, because her object of affection (Shuusuke) is gone.
8 more days until the game releases.. ^_^

Stripey, want me to help you cure you of your siscon a bit? At least give you an antidote for the worst times?
Get and play KimiAru

Still waiting for the fansub… if Shuri kisses Shuusuke this ep then this is gonna be TEH FAP of an episode.
GO NANAKA GO!

Okay.. whatever the context – I absolutely love that pic you have topping this article. There’s something about small feminine hands holding a clunky guy’s hand that’s just melty nice to see.

Two words: SO. EPIC.
If this goes on every time I watch a M;Y episode, I will have to get steel clamps to make sure I don’t dislocate my jaw as it’s gaping lower and lower with every week. Best twist and parallel ever.
December 12th, 2007 - 20:04
i didn’t see this one coming besides the fact what shuri and shuu did.the arsonist is already set in my mind as there was a pretty big clue recently however i am curious as to why sana has a hemophobia but…two more eps to go.

Kresnik: Oh noees! I hope they leave Aoi alone. But given that she has such a wonderful mother, I think the series is getting her apart as the example where a life was positive nurtured by loving adults. But then again, with M;Y, anything can happen
Mentar: I checked it out a little after your comment. Bro/Sis coming servants in rich household? Sounds like I’m only gonna sink deeper XD Speaking of which this was just released for preorders today

You are not working for Goodsmile Company are you?
Sherman, the Ramni: They didn’t…. they went beyond that… XD

vexx: It helps that my wife has really small hands too… XD I think I know where you get that insight from since we both have lolicious wives
Owen S: Yeah! I love it when Nakahara Mai uses her Higuarshi Rena voice…. so emotional yet creepy. Can’t wait to see what other shocking revelations they have in store for us… maybe Sana will end with Hinako? Rejoice with me Owen!
Viceral: About the arsonist, maybe it’s because they made it too obvious that I suspect it’s a red herring. I await to be surprised

Omg what did I tell you before Stripey about feeling Yuri vibes between Asami and Shuri? You said it was impossible and here we stand, finding out that Asami was indeed in love with Shuri!
December 12th, 2007 - 23:30
Where is the ef post already…
. After 10 eps, I’m finding it vastly superior in almost every aspect.
Not saying that myself;yourself is bad, but that ef is just that much better.

rofl @ Hinako end. It’s been confirmed that you can choose her path in the visual novel (why would they have an ending song for her otherwise?), so I’m all for that.. on the other hand, WTF? I had no idea Hoshino was voiced by Mai Nakahara. That’s Nagisa and Rena right there! Very impressive.
Despite it being the longest dialogue scene so far in the whole of M;Y I think she managed well overall on delivery. It wasn’t boring or eye-rolling or clich

Just watched. Needed more Shuri kissing Shuusuke, and the lack of Nanaka disturbs me.
An excellent episode indeed. Seems M;Y is playing this part the same way Mai-HiME did it: appealing to the sense of solitude when your friends leave to create an uneasy atmosphere, something that I think Sana will have to deal with the next ep (it’s time to save Nanaka, Sana-chan).
But what I’m expecting the most is the mystery of the watch and what happened to Sana before coming back. It’s kinda obvious the suicide theory is the mos possible option, but this is M;Y, so anything can happen.

This episode just didn’t do it for me. The Asami “development” was a cheap “gotcha!” moment and was simply an example of character assassination. It would be the equivalent of seeing Shirakawa Kotori turn into a lesbian stalker and cause Nemu to cough up sakura petals.
Looks like we’ll have this discussion again after episode 12, when the writers assassinate Aoi’s character. After all, they have do something to make Nanaka look good; so why not throw all the other girls off the cliff?

So I watched and ’twas totally awesome. I’ve always hated the rejection but staying friends and everyone’s happy bullcrap. For much of the same reason Asami hated it. Denial of existence or a chance to come to terms. A dream of mine is for some character out there, when given the ‘let’s just stay friends’ line, to respond like this…
“F*%k off…all or nothing you little b#@ch…all or nothing…”
So Asami didn’t respond like that but she did think it. And the situation blew up eventually. Beautifully as well. Great justice for all.
I’m reading Someday’s Dreamer – Spellbound, it’s generic angsty shoujo that makes me want to tear my hair out, but there is this one line that’s just so awesome.
Male lead’s mother got into a car accident that killed another boy along with herself. The male lead started to send money to the family. He thought he was being kind like the rest of the school romance losers out there. Then the family sent a cease and desist letter to his lawyer. The lawyer explained how his gestures of ‘kindness’ is only rubbing salt into their wounds…
“You have to think about what is really best for them and not about your own guilt.” I love it.

Wow, I didn’t think M;Y was going to pull this big a plot twist–now I can’t even imagine what they have in store for the last two episodes:
- Sana didn’t try to kill himself in the past, he just can’t stand the sight of blood because he killed a man for the bigass watch he won’t take off.
- Aoi’s actually an alien (it’d explain her voice and omega-class oppai) who’s here to take over the Earth with Keroro.
- Asami and Hinako get together, since they have getting rejected by Wakatsuki twins in common already.

holyman282: oh yes, I’m humbled by your foresight.
It goes to show that the development is not as abrupt as it seemed.
Icteridae: I’m at ep 9 already actually. I actually enjoy the Chihiro parts more than the Kei/Miyako parts, surprisingly since I preferred the latter’s character designs and dilemma setup. Post to come soon
Owen S: I didn’t know Nagisa was Mai?!? Man, she can go from dojikko to serial killer with just an inflection of a note! It was a long delivery but it was so well executed I didn’t notice she talked for so long. Sasuga Nakahara Mai.
As for the Hinako end, I guess we can console ourselves with the visual novel since chances for the anime is low. *sob
Sherman, the Ramni: Agreed. It’s M;Y, anything is possible.. I’m just hoping the series ends strongly and not squander the greatness it has built over these 11 eps. I tend to feel such anxiety for good shows.
dsong: Hmmm, maybe the clues were there but we didn’t quite catch it. After the series I’m going back to rewatch to pick them out.
Zzz…:

I’d like the Chihiro parts more, but Renji’s voice just grates on me. Same guy who does the voice for Raki. And both characters are irritating in their naivety.
December 15th, 2007 - 05:29
Oh Raki’s seiyuu?! That explains a few things
Actually I had a lot of respect for Renji until his recent behaviour with Chihiro’s reset. Given his strong response to Chihiro’s guardian, one’d thought he was ready for the consequences. I guess he’s after all, still a kid.

BTW, any information about a M;Y OST?
December 15th, 2007 - 20:08
Hmm I can’t seem to find the OST release on cdjapan. Actually I haven’t been particularly impressed by the OST. Maybe I haven’t been listening hard enough. The OST I’m really waiting for is Sky Girls’ to be released 19th Dec.
December 17th, 2007 - 07:50
wha…? you didn’t get impressed by ep 8, the music for Nanaka/Sana’s argument?
STRIPEY NO BAKA!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
*runs away crying*
December 18th, 2007 - 06:53
LOL! I need to go rewatch the part again. Actually for M;Y, I have found the Shuu/Shuri parts more poignant than the Sana/Nanaka parts.
December 18th, 2007 - 17:55
Stripey – well, there IS some evidence for Asami being a lesbian; the problem is that there is just as much evidence for Nanaka being one. Just look at how mad she gets whenever she sees Asami together with Sana, and her blowup in episode 8. Maybe she was simply torn between the two, and couldn’t stand BOTH of them being taken away from her?
As for twincest, it’s no longer speculation; it’s pretty much fact. They may not have done the deed but they definitely crossed the line at the end of Episode 11. Shuri’s remark about them being “doomed lovers” pretty much seals the deal.
December 26th, 2007 - 20:10
I dont know… incest, lovers?… I think they loved each others as siblings… but then again what do i know…
December 28th, 2007 - 11:42
I just read at Kurogane’s that the game has no Shuu X Shuri pairing so I suppose we should give them the benefit of the doubt in the anime too
December 28th, 2007 - 12:43
Some people actually have to see them “do the deed” to get the hint…
By this standard I suppose Haruka and Michiru in Sailor Moon are just good friends.
