hnkd 4/2008: So loli the con of Stripey

Commenters' feedback can sometimes feel like blowback.

Brownie points for getting the reference in the last panel.

Apologies for any possible confusion; the arrows represent the various accusations hitting on-target and I tried to make the linkage in the first two panels by pointing the dialogue bubble's origin spike to the arrow itself. On reflection, I should have just left it unconnected like the final panel.

I was also thinking of labelling the arrows and daggers with the gist of the various accusations, like this Code Geachu parody comic (by the same folks who brought us the glorious StrikerS Nano!) but it was hard to fit in the (weapon-type) arrows and I didn't want to use the (direction-type) arrow. Likewise for the daggers for the final panel...

Bonus scene.

  1. … that last link. So perfect. So wrong, but so perfect.

    Besides, he’s not just a Goth-loli-siscon, he’s a Goth-loli-furry-siscon, to judge by his love (imagined by me, or real) of the little imouto in Utawarerumono… Or maybe he’s a Goth-loli-trap-siscon, given his worship of Gretel… whichever brother or sister he/she is.

  2. Hehe, though when did Stripey lose the meido in his meido-goth-loli-sis-con title? I second the motion to expand his titles to reflect his growing list of “interests.”

  3. Crusader: You put in the one thing I forgot: meido, although Jason Miao’s more into meido than Stripey.

    Yes, he is a Goth-loli-trap-meido-siscon… with more titles that are, undoubtedly, hidden from the rest of us at the moment.

  4. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set ye free.”
    - John 8:32, quoted in the seal of the FBI

    Although one suspects that in this instance most could really rather not know the full truth of the matter. :P

  5. Stripey has long been in denial. It is possible that all the talk about siscon is a cover for him liking Loli, as younger sisters, by definition, tends to be younger than the main character who usually are High Schoolers, thus be of age similar to the age of Lolita in the novel.

  6. Don’t worry, you’re not a lolicon, you’re just a fag for thinking Konomi or Primula are lolis.
    Also, as long as you won’t like pictures involving loli nudity you won’t be a lolicon. Well you don’t, right?

  7. Haesslich, I’m not quite sure about trap or furry, Stripey’s liked a few. Hell, I’ve liked a few (Jun Watarase ~~♥) but it seems more like a blip than a fullblown complex. Ahaha~~

    Crusader, yeah I left out the meido thing since his ‘May the Goth be loli’ post, I think Stripey considers meido to be a sub-set of goth or, at least, the features that he likes about meido.

    Watchman, the truth is often an ugly and unbearable thing. That’s why we want family, friends, lovers, politicians to just tell us the things we want to hear. ;) In this case, as you’ve hinted, the truth will land a certain someone in big trouble big time LOL

    maglor, while Stripey hasn’t read that novel, he certainly doesn’t think that Nabokov is a brand of assault rifle. ;) It was Ender of Sea Slugs! that rumbled him on the siscon though. Give that man a medal!

    nu, in all fairness to my good bro, I think Stripey thinks of Konomi and Primula as lolicious rather than loli. Kinda like his wife. LOL

  8. LOL @ bonus scene. We need those Stripey-tan spin-offs. :)

  9. Zyl: if he worships Gretel enough to have ‘her’ as a header image, he’s in denial. ;) And while meido CAN look Gothic, it doesn’t hsve to be – Maria from HnG’s outfit is very modern in styling and lacks a lot of lace, as does Wilheimina’s, de arimasu.

    Heck, didn’t he like Hamaji in H2O?

Or Mizuho in OtoBoku? And didn’t he watch parts of Happiness? And watched Maid in Heaven? Add meido-trap to his title: he deserves it. ;) (redo as edit function did not work fom non-Windows browser)

  11. Well Zyl, to me calling a character lolilicious is the same as saying it’s loli :/
    I don’t really see why you’d call a character lolilicious when it’s not loli lol
    The Loliliciousness is what makes a character loli :p

  12. Haesslich: Actually I’m into Lolita fashion – goth/sweet/others. Maria/Mahoro’s meido outfits are probably a subset of that genre. :)

    nu: Think of it as calling an adult childish.

  13. Childish is usually used to define behavior or shape – lolilicious seems to suggest that you find it interesting in a way that’s not so innocent… or that you want to eat it up.

    You sir, are a Goth-loli-meido-siscon with furry and trap-con tendencies. ;)

  14. On a related note, does Stripey feel siscon towards Rin Itoshiki? She looks like Enma Ai, has Rena Ryugu’s yandere tendencies, and in episode three of Zoku… well, she’s wearing serafuku, but… let’s merely say she’s evil.

  15. Actually it’s disturbing.. I’m attracted to all the girls in SZS.. XD

  16. It’s not disturbing, except if you like them only for their yandere tendencies. They’re all designed to hit a stereotype, which in turn is a fetish point for a lot of otaku:

    * hikkimori/yamato nadeshiko (Komori)
    * yandere/normal girl (Chiri)
    * wounded girl/emotionless girl (Abiru),
    * yamato nadeshiko/yandere/imouto (Rin)
    * low self-esteem (Ai Kaga)
    * genki/yandere (Fuura)
    * fujiyoshi/meganneko (Harumi)
    * normal/underdog (Nami)
    * innocent/loli (Maria)
    * quiet/bitchy (Meru)
    * busty/fanservice girl/blonde gaijin/’tsundere’ (Kaere)
    * stalker/yandere (Tsunetsuki)
    * wife/underdog (Ookasa)

    … actually, I take it back. If you like Maria or Meru, you’re probably a lolicon. And maybe a siscon, if you only like Rin for her imoutu characteristics.

    Me? I rather like Chie-sensei, but Komori too for her yamato nadeshiko qualities. Ep 3 really had Rin doing something fun, if somewhat… disturbing. I keep associating her with Enma Ai for some reason.

  17. Personally, I just like that series because it’s crazy as a hatful of beavers singing the Night Queen’s Aria and proud of it.

    The categorical snarkiness doesn’t particularly hurt either.

    PS: That bonus scene in the main post is made of pure awesome and win. XD

  18. Watchman: the unabashed craziness is its best part… but he was talking about liking the GIRLS… and in a way beyond liking the show. ;)

    I tried re-creating that screenshot, but alas… no go. Did get one which suggested Stripey was a trap, though.

  19. IMHO being into the Zetsubou girls is fine enough grounds for getting weird looks from your neighbours. They’re *that* cracked. :D

    The second paragraph kinda makes you wonder of just what kinds of adverts flash in that box… and why. ▼ Show

    …I’ll shut up now, officer.

  20. Well, it’s not QUITE that bad… but yeah, I thought it was believing that Stripey’s a trap as well as a lolicon.
