ARIA The Origination 6

Normally, dojikko girls just drive me up the wall but in Athena-senpai's case, I just wanna go: Omochikareri~~~ ♥

A pizza is fine too. What are those toppings? Salami, corn, asparagus, cheese stuffing??

I was going to make a snide comment about how the undines never seem to put on any weight despite all their constant snacking (well, except in Athena-senpai's case, non-snacking despite attempt to do so) but then I remember how exhausted I was after an afternoon's punting in Oxford! Mmm... all that rowing definitely makes for flat tummies, pert bums... mmmm....

Ahaha~~ Athena-senpai's so easily pleased. Sometimes it's hard to tell who's the senpai and who's the kouhai. This actually fits in quite well with how Aika, in The Natural, teased Alice about how she will almost certainly have to train someone who was older than her after she became a prima. It'll be utterly hilarous if Alice's kouhai turns out to be quite like Athena-senpai either in terms of looks, clumsiness or singing ability.

Oops she did it again! I wonder what other kinds of songs Athena sings? Wagner anyone?

Of course, everyone loved Alice spying on Alicia this episode. As well as being Ah my goddess and Miss Perfect. I really LOL'ed at Alice's vivid CG imagination of Alicia. And for a moment, Sayako Ohara (I normally prefer her more sultry roles like Yuuko in XXXHolic or Bel Peol in Shana; PS her role as Millay Ashford in Code Geass needed more fangirls e.g. Ep 6 and casually groping Shirley's chest while wearing nekofuku heheh) sounded a lot like Naomi Shindoh's rendition of Shizuru.

I couldn't help but recall someone else who also ran a Bodhisattva Inside processor.

The first couple scenes of this episode were the funniest thing I’ve seen in awhile. Athena….so silly.
Alicia’s goddess cg form reminded me of a lot of the wii graphics for games that are being released like Harvest Moon.
PANI PONI DASH FTW! MAHO???

It’s interesting to see how Alicia’s views on learning differs from Akira’s due to their personalities – it really does remind me of Grandma’s ‘lesson’ in the first series, especially when Alicia explains why she doesn’t spend all of her time correcting Akari when the latter makes mistakes (rowing backwards, rocking the boat, etc).
In my opinion the difference in approach has as much to do with Akari’s personality as it does with Alicia’s preferences; Aika might not respond as well to Alicia’s ‘easy-going’ approach, instead being too lost in akogare to really learn anything. In such circumstances, Akira’s a much better fit for Aika; look at how Aika reacted to Grandma during their first meeting… and how she needed a clue-by-four to understand the point being made. Akari, on the other hand, might find herself unwilling to try doing anything after repeated harsh lectures which means she’s unlikely to improve her skills, whereas Aika’s stubbornness and pride makes her much more driven to improve in the face of adversity or criticism. Aika has acknowledged this fact; Akira is one of the few inside the company who is willing to pull no punches when it comes to evaluating her performance.
Of course, all three girls get to experience both the taskmaster (Akira) the guide (Alicia) methods of teaching. Perhaps that’s why undines seem to mingle so freely, no matter the company – they work together so often as trainees that the competition, such as it is, is ameliorated by the relationships formed through early cross-training… and as a result, skills and knowledge aren’t hoarded by anyone particular group, which benefits their whole community because it’s a lot easier to get skilled undines as most Singles and Pairs get easy access to good instructors, no matter what company they belong to.

If you want Wagner, you need to get Rosa Canina from Marimite to sing the parts. Following are my recommendations for Athena.
Mozart Laudate Dominum (Vesperae de Dominica KV 321 )
