5 favourite tracks – True Tears OST

One of True tears greatest strength lies in the masterful employment of its background music. From dramatic tracks accompanying shocking siscon relevations/surprise kisses to gentle piano pieces following Raigomaru/Noe's adventures, the soundtrack never ceased to string my emotions along with its perfectly placed notes. As part of Hontouni's continual effort to pimp musical goodness, here's a sampling of 5 of my favourite tracks from the True Tears OST.
(Edit: 11 Mar 2009 - BGMs removed)
Plenty more musical goodness from where those came from. I can't wait to hear "Afure deru, kimochi" in the series finale.

Boo, lack of aburamushi song? Stripey, how could you? XD
Really though, that list is pretty good. I’d have thrown in Omoi wo Oitekite~Reflect Tier~ somewhere in that list, probably in place of Orange ha ochite iku toki, but that’s just personal taste. Ichijin no Kaze sends chills down my spine with its eloquent sadness, Kokoro Kasanete is something so calming and yet pensieve, Kagami Kimi wa Utsuhite is the backbone theme for so many of the development scenes in the series, and Afure Deru Kimochi is really suitable as one of the ‘reprieve’ theme for the series.

Ichijin no Kaze sounds like a variation of Kaze no Lullaby from Megazone 23.

Ichijin no kaze is definitely one of my fav BGMs from True Tears. I’ve heard a very similar tune elsewhere but can’t recall where… I’ve never watched Megazone23 so I’m sure I didn’t hear it from Megazone23 either. ~_~ dang… I hate when this happens.

Great music, great female cast, all that’s left is an excellent ending.

Cipher: Heh, I can’t wait for the full version of the aburamushi song
I wonder how many renditions there are.
maglor/muhootsaver: I think the beginning of Ichigin is reminiscent of some Korean TV drama bgms. Maybe something from Winter Sonata?
Crusader: Not to forget an excellent meal out of Jibeta. Raigomaru could have used more garlic salt. XD

Afure deru… Sounds so good, it makes me cry…

All the ones listed are good.
I am also rather partial to “Little Love.”
“Nyuushakou ni, Migite wo Kazasu” and “Speed-PoweR” are also rather fun ones from the upbeat side of the OST.
The 6 I have added to my regular playlist are the sames one you have minus “Orange wa ochite iku toki,” and added “Little Love” and “Mujakisa wo Senaka ni.”

Kanon_fan82: Glad you liked it!
maglor: hmm some similarities indeed. But I’m thinking along the lines of Winter Sonata… time to revisit that OST
Viny: It really hits a crescendo at the end doesn’t it?
Derek: thanks the heads up! Checking out those tracks soon

I think the reason why Ichijin no kaze sounds so similar to Kaze no Lullaby is because they both have the same relative key signature (A Maj / F# Min) and they both start with a jump of a major sixth.
Anyway, I like your choices for the top five, tough, if I had to choose they would be…
Ichijin no kaze
SeLecT
Maioriru Kioku no Kage ni
Kagami, Kimi wo Utsuhite
Afure Deru, Kimochi

I have SeLect and Maioriru kioku no kage ni on my playlist too.
Both are great pieces indeed.
