Eureka 7 OST Favourite – Sprinting Spirits
A big thank you to Ivy who pointed me to the Eureka OST. We're kindred souls in anime music indeed. I'm now utterly enamoured with "Sprinting spirits". As the title implies, it's an absolutely liberating piece with a touch of epic. Enjoying tremendously also "To wish upon a star". While Eureka Seven remains an uneven series for me, I remember the concluding scene well, surely made memorable by this BGM.

The main issue I had with Eureka 7′s soundtrack was that it’s fairly uneven. There are some excellent tracks like the ones you highlighted that are broken up by bland fare. The good stuff can be really good, but the rest you just sort of want to skip out on. Had it been more consistent, I’d have given it higher marks.

Oh I’m glad you gave it a try! The music in E7 really elevated the show to new heights, without this music’s accompaniment it would have turned into an ok (not great) sci-fi show. These dramatic pieces really accentuate those scenes completely engrossing you and enveloping you into the situation. I tend to have a critical eye, but when an average show has great music, I can forgive its missteps…usually (there are exceptions of course).

zzeroparticle: I would have to agree that overall E7 OST wouldn’t break into my top ten either. Maybe it’s the trance parts that I couldn’t get into. Enjoyed the OST mainly for Naoki sensei’s works.
And am very glad I discovered Sprinting Spirits!
Ivy: Indeed. Great music can lift a series out of mediocrity to.. well average and make already compelling series immortal XD But a true tragedy occurs when grand music is coupled with unworthy productions. Fortunately E7 isn’t one of those.
Nevertheless, BONES need to work on their endings.
