The music of D.C.if (Da Capo if) – The magic restored

Inspired by the numerous comparisons of D.C.if's end scene to a similar one in DCIISS, I revisited Oto-nee goodness in DCIISS 12. It was TERRIFIC. I remember again why I had betrayed my imouto-roots to band behind Otome. I remember why I'll be getting the DCIISS DVDs. But I also remembered that DCIISS, though excellent by the franchise standards, just did not have the emotional impact of the original Da Capo. The key missing ingredient? A fitting soundtrack.

D.C.if, on the other hand, retained the magic because they used the original D.C. score. ZEXCS must have a tanuki's mind since they weaved almost all my favourite D.C. bgm into the OVA. Here's sharing 5 reasons why the OVA is so outstanding.

It's times like this I wished I could play the piano and serenade to my Kotori (MaxFac PVC make) Hoping they would have "Fuan" and "Kyoudai nandakara" in part 2.

    I’ve got to say, those five selections are definitely among the best in the entire D.C. OST collection. OVA notwithstanding, though, I must say that I will never forget the original scene that accompanied the fifth song; preferences about the heroines aside, I still think that scene was one of the most memorable of the whole franchise (and, for me, in all anime). The music definitely played a huge part.

    the 5th piece was played at quite a few poignant scenes which one was it? :) My favourite is the 4th track – Sukuwareru Kotori. Played in the end of ep 22 for Yoriko. Beautiful beyond words. XD

    Oh — the main time I was referring to for the fifth song in the original series was the ending of episode 19. The way they did that whole scene is a classic in my eyes.
