Nostalgia Disease

The funniest thing about Hinano's attempt to raise the dead was that some listed patently weren't. And it seems to chochok-ed tjhan at least. Or is that really a tjhan homunculus over at RIUVA now? (BTW the ending of FMA really ruined the series for me. I'll probably wait for the new iteration to conclude before deciding whether to pick it up, like the way I did with the first season of Code Geass.)

Anyhow this post was spurred, in the aftermath of LOL at the title of Martin's feedreader folder, by the impulse look at the 'on hiatus' feeds I subscribe to, albeit incompletely. WRT hiatus criteria, mine are (1) self-declared (Goodbye, World) or (2) no anime posts for at least three months. In monitoring the undead, there's a distinct bias towards the Ole Skool blogs who have been around since the Ancient Times; well, those haven't vanished into the ether of the interwebs and who have RSS feeds. Aside from those, I do miss two yuri fans, mangaminx who burned out after Mai Otome concluded and myu of the yandere love.

I guess I'm a sentimental sort of guy. Now suddenly have the urge to go back and tag old posts bemoaning the disappearance or hiatus of old anime blogs with the title of this post.

  1. I knew my post would bring at least ONE person back! Lmao, TJ’s posting like a fiend now!

  2. You do realize that the NSFW(6) in that screenshot is going to prevent every reader of this post from taking it seriously now.

  3. @ Hinano

I’m kinda confused sometimes when reading Comments sections though – there’s also another TJ running around.

    @ totali

You mean people actually take my posts seriously!? *shokku* I must do something about it! Or maybe I just did. :3

  4. totali: The funny thing probably is I might read some of those blogs myself. :P

One thing I like about RSS readers is that the posts in a way are never gone. Plus if the bloggers do decide to come back, I also know. Why didn’t I start using this before?

  5. Now I have the urge to go back and look up old Momotato Daioh entries…damn, screencaps were small back in the day…

Google Reader is a gift from the gods – I don’t think I’d survive half the mind-numbing conference calls I get stuck on every day without it. I don’t have an NSFW folder, but when you work from home most of the time there’s no such thing ^_^

  6. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog. I don’t have a blog… :(

Zyl, you should add Totali to that list. He hasn’t been posting for almost a week.
