Hayate no Gotoku!! 2

Hayate sets off on a training journey of redemption.
18:02 - 18:38 LOL Yukiji calling Hina petanko after the latter used most of her prize money to pay off most of our favourite alcoholic teacher's debts.
19:37 - 21:00 The beginning of Hina's use of the Ayasaki-kun saluation. On the one hand, Hayate wasn't being unreasonable in assuming that Hina would excuse his tactics since Hina did warn him, during the Butler Battle Royale, she would be cross with him if he didn't fight to his best ability because she's a girl. And here she's accused him of enjoying being a bully towards girls. I suppose what's changed is her steadily growing attraction to him and, in proportion, her desire for him to give her special consideration.
[03:20 Ah, revenge is indeed sweet, Maria-san.]
I'm well pleased with this episode even though I wasn't that interested in the first half. I'm just glad that we've had happy fun Hina screentime and that the major developments have faithfully followed the manga chapter 60 but in moving coloured pictures and with Shizu-sama's voice. Great to see that the Hina ED wasn't just a one-off either.
Also reassured by the shot of Hina wielding Murasame in the next episode preview. Looking forward to the next ep!

Haha, I love the tags :p
Those Hakuou Gakuen uniforms are definitely deceiving. I admit, that was my first impression as well.

Well, Hayate WAS pretty mean on the bridge. “Hey, I feel like rocking it a bit” – heh
I’d say the “attraction” has just received quite a bit of a blow. Hina isn’t THAT much of a vindictive type (think the butler tournament), but she is a stranger to losing, and losing by having Hayate mercilessly exploit her prime weakness definitely ticked her off. Hence the downgrade to Ayasaki-kun.
The “attraction” is a very gradual development, I’d say. And if we’re lucky, it’s gonna begin in ep4, with the Valentine Day arc. *knocks on wood*

@ Nazareille
Well, Hina isn’t exactly the most well endowed chara ever or even in this series. Which is one of the reasons why I mark down Tony Taka’s Hina art.
@ Mentar
Hmmm… yes, Hina would see Hayate’s little trick with the bridge as being unfair and dishonourable. And that won’t conflict too much with her previous desire for him to go all out. All out but subject to being fair and square.
Nonetheless I would have thought she would have felt a little happy that Hayate came to her for help. But I suppose she’s used to being depended on that it’s not that much of a compliment anymore.

Well, she DID react surprised and irritated that Hayate turned tail and ran. Most likely we’re about to see something about her motivation her next episode, so I won’t talk about that too much. And as the preview shows, she IS about to save his (and Nagi’s) behind anyway, her earlier nagging notwithstanding.
I feel sorry for her in any case though that for her constant helping out she isn’t receiving all too much appreciation ^_^;

Well, yeah, she’s certainly not, but the Hakuou Gakuen uniforms seem to have the effect of making her look completely flat, something that is obviously not the case. I don’t believe I’ve seen any of Tony Taka’s Hina art, but I guess that means he gives her more credit than she really has? :p
