The stupid/clumsy type is one of my least favourites as well, but only when it's in shoujo manga where every male in existence HAS to fall in love with her and have the other smart girl end up a rival. It's not like that in K-On, there aren't guys around and everything is so sweet, innocent and girly. I love it, Yui is actually one of my faves. I adore Mio too, but her moe character is kind of cliche for me. For some reason I actually find Yui refreshingly different from stereotypes. I never knew Yui was hated D:

But her sincerity was also clearest in the scenes I talked about above. Both aspects have been muted somewhat since then which is a relief wrt former but I would like to see more of the latter. re: ADHD, that seems to be a diagnosis gone too far. Sure she's ill-disciplined but does it mean she needs to have some medical condition to explain it? The makeup test results showed that what she needed was personal mentoring/shepherding rather than medical treatment.
