Hatsukoi Limited 8

Collateral damage.

Cutting the Gordian knot.

My admiration for Saki-nee continues to grow. She was in a difficult situation wrt Mamoru and Yoshihiko but, ultimately, did the best thing by confronting things head-on, face-to-face, politely, quickly and decisively. It's valuable skill for someone as hawt as her. Even if love is limited, friendship can still be preserved. I do hope that both Mamoru and Yoshihiko can take heart from the fact that Misaki cared for them enough not to let the issue fester and to move on.

Overall this episode had great comedic moments and lovely fan service but this also had one of the best depicted rejection scenes I've seen in anime thus far.

  1. I agree – in a world of anime where many series choose the “don’t reject anyone/open ending”, I’m even more impressed that Saki-nee did the right thing and set things straight before any more pain was caused. Although I think my admiration for Saki-nee is a little tarnished by her taste in guys – both Mamoru and Yoshihiko seemed more deserving, and the lollipop thing was just…unusual.

  2. @suguru: You can’t blame Misaki for her bad taste in guys – she must have got it from every other character in this show :P

  3. Adding to issa-sa’s lighthearted response, Saki-nee’s just 16 so I feel she’s entitled to some silliness in her ‘first love’ attraction. The basis of attraction may be ludicrous but wrt who deserves who, we all know life ain’t like that.
