Amid the conflicting world views of the other brigade members and Haruhi's increasingly dangerous changes to the world, the movie finally gets finished and screened.

Who did the editing and special effects of the movie? I agree that the number one suspect was Yuki since she definitely has the skill but as this was not confirmed and isn't her mission simply to observe? Though she has been playing a safety officer role throughout the filming, it could be argued that it was part of her observation duties to continue to maintain Haruhi's ignorance of her powers and the safety of Kyon (as demonstrated by her coming to his rescue against Ryoko). Argh, the mystery will continue to gnaw at me for a while.

I was also wowed by how Mikuru and Itsuki contended with each other to influence Kyon as well as Yuki's implication that she knows the truth. I was reminded of Rashomon initially - such as the idea of multiple subjectivities, the varied understandings of a single entity/event (Haruhi's nature, the origin of her powers and her relationship to the various factions) and, despite what Yuki says, a glimmer of the proof of the truth, i.e. Disappearance, which I am still really really really looking forward to. Yes, even after x9 Endless Eight. Because I so want to see Yuki's blush and her hamster pinch.
