I did feel more sympathetic towards Kuroko in the manga
You nailed what I actually wanted to say about her portrayal here. Anime Kuroko throwing a hissy fit to make herself look like the victim instead of the situation itself did indeed cause me to pity her less; compared to Manga Kuroko who simply felt ignored by Mikoto (even though that was on reasonable grounds e.g. spiked drink). I guess I also took into account the Manga's scenario where the two girls got into trouble for breaking curfew because they were busy dealing with the Level Upper case, and add to the fact that Kuroko was trying to reason with the dorm mistress to save both Mikoto and herself from getting punished (versus Anime scenario where they got into trouble for attempting to fight each other using their powers in the dorm). It's fully understandable not everyone can come to see Kuroko as being one of the more standout role players in Railgun but yeah, in my *very* biased opinion, it's still a bit disheartening to see her getting slandered a lot due to what she did in this episode.
Kuroko's powers of Yuri are indeed impressive, at this point even after her unfortunate run in with the dorm supervisor she yet lives. Truly she is blessed by the spirit of the late Liang Qi, LOVE WILL NEVER DIE!
