Having just bought Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children complete, I realised the STARK difference between an image produced in HD from the onset and trying to 'remaster'/upscale one from an SD. The new footages in ACC were utterly gorgeous - as crisp/fluid as the demos you see in electronic stores. But the original AC footages, though a vast improvement from the DVD (which I also own), was clearly inferior. So yeah, I wouldn't be upgrading my existing anime DVD collection to blu-ray but will get them for new series.

Toradora's on my list too :)
