I agree about the role Touma played in Mikoto's life. He is partly responsible for her diverse creativity in using her powers after all. I'd like to think he was the one who made Mikoto come up with the idea of using iron sand as bladed weapons for example, even though that may not be the case in the first place.

Regarding Uiharu's Level, my awful memory can't seem to recall where it was mentioned in the manga that she is a Level 2. Probably my eyes overlooking finer details again. @_@

Isn't Uiharu a Level 2 in th manga (while being a Level 1 in the anime)?

It does drive me crazy, itching like bugs on brain, as to what her Ability is but I suppose it's also a great way to stir up the fanbase and maintain interest in the franchise by leaving these types of things up for speculation.

re: rat race - Mikoto's story also makes me think about that a whole bunch of business school/self help stuff about how successful people who have always been successful are at the most danger of failing big time when they finally do hit the wall. In a way, Touma has been good at preparing her for something that her powers cannot help her against.

Kuroko-samaaaaa~!! If you know something about Uiharu's powers, please give us a hint! The author and producers are being big teasers about it! The omakes aren't helping either coz they're contradicting what the producers said!
JK. Guess it's more exciting if we wait for it to pop up in the manga later. ;)

Hmm... Interesting analogy about the status of espers in Academy City being likened to a rat race. It does make sense wrt how people's perspective changes once they're in a different stage from others, especially if they're already way ahead in the race.
