Could I actually have the greatest yuri powers of them all?

Summary:

Azusa recalls her friends quitting their doujinshi circle, complaining about her being too uptight about it. After school tests, Azusa butts in on Ushio's attempt to review the questions with Sumika, mentioning her promise to join her for a yuri doujinshi event which is the foundation for the rest of her Summer of Murasame. But upon reaching home, her father asks her to help look after the family liquor shop as he has to make deliveries and her mom is looking after Grandma at the hospital. Her delusions start to form the basis of an original yuri novel but her parents are happy she's found a friend to enjoy her interests with.

Meanwhile Tomoe plans for a camp and easily overcomes Sumika's opposition by telling her it involves a beach trip; they invite Kiyori and make plans to buy new swimsuits. Azusa completes her first draft and tries to think of a title. When she tries to show it to Sumika, the latter has completely forgotten about the event and appears to evade her. After school, Azusa heads home and breaks down. Tomoe and Miyako accompany Sumika to Asuza's home where she apologizes. Watching from downstairs, outside, Ushio leaves quietly. As Asuza gushes about Yuri Fest to Sumika, the latter realizes with horror that it clashes with Tomoe's camp trip.

Reaction:

The sign language exchange between Sumika and Ushio was absolutely hilarous; I also liked it as an indication of how well they understand each other.

Humour aside, this was a pretty difficult episode for me to enjoy because I don't like Azusa. Mainly because I see a lot of myself in her - getting absolutely absorbed in something that no one else is interested in, expecting others to treat petty stuff as SRSBZNS etc. It doesn't help that our chara designs ain't great either.

To echo Shinmaru's point, this episode was most significant for helping to advance the Ushio -> Sumika front as the former confronts the possibility of the latter spending less time with her.
