Yuri Eroge “Hanabira”
[hanabira1.jpg - images removed due to hotlinking]
So what's the yuri anime scene going to be like after Strawberry Panic and Simoun? Based on this invaluable Airborne Early Warning post by Omni, Otome wa Boku ni Koi Shiteru looks like a possible candidate - except for the existential problem of the protagonist actually being a guy. While an argument can be made at the metaphysical level for this to be considered yuri (the girls think he's a she), reality and something else will rear its head when the girls urm try to get into his panties.
Further down the horizon, StoPani might have paved the way for more imitators. We might see the yuri eroge Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo (To Kiss That Flower Petal) by the doujin game circle, Fuguriya, as a mainstream anime in the future. But it's early days as the download version of the game was only release this month and the packet edition goes out in October.
Tomoyo After ~It's a wonderful life

I typically skip the bishoujo-games section of MEGAMI. However in the most recent issue (June 2006 vol. 73) it ran an additional feature "Game bishoujo clinic", showcasing 6 bishoujo games to hit the stores (on various platforms; PSP/PS2/Win) later this year. The art for the first 2 games featured really captivated me.. Produced by KEY, both Planetarian and Tomoyo After ~It's a wonderful life have received PS2 upgrades for release in summer and autumn (to be confirmed) 2006 respectively. I have since read Planetarian and will devote a post to it soon. However for today, I'll be pimping Tomoyo.
Before the mindless fanboy ranting begins, here's the Tomoyo promo clip for your viewing pleasure.
Brighter than dawning blue

From the company that produced the eroge Tsuki ha Higashi ni Hi ha Nishi ni (Hani Hani): Operation Sanctuary comes another impossibly long title (Yoake mae yoru ruri iro na) to get the both PS2 port and anime treatment at the end of this year. (Special thanks to Suguru for the uplifting news and demystifying the exhausting Kanji title with a romanji transliteration.)
More details of the anime adaptation have since been released in a MEGAMI feature (Vol. 73 June 2006) and I was somewhat glad Radix (who animated the less-than-stellar Hani Hani ~Operation Sanctuary) would not be undertaking Yoakena's production. Instead ?? (Onegai Sensei/Twins and Hanaukyo Maid-tai) would be in charge. Some anime art was also released and here's a comparison with the game CG.
Warning - Lots of bishoujos pics - not to be viewed with jealous spouses
DCII Game Prelude – The many faces of Shirakawa Nanaka

I just bulldozed through the prelude to DCII ~Haru kaze no Ultimate battle (a free demo btw) with special attention on Asukura Yume and Shirakawa Nanaka. Despite my pathetic Japanese, I actually enjoyed the Nanaka moments very much.
Da Capo II Game Promo
Warning all to DC fans. Don't. watch. this. promo. It's too late for me but for you folks who are not/have not
1) full fledged lolicons,
2) pre-ordered DCII;
Stay far FAR away. If not for the sake of your future teenage daughters, do it at least for your wallets. Better still, don't read this entry since any discourse on the game will likely induce one or both of the abovementioned effects.
For the kamikaze who are willing to stake their mental amd finanical health, here's some nerfed screencaps from the DCII promo.
Wife-chan has never felt threatened by my 2D loves before – not even by the like of resident Hontouni goddesses Shirakawa Kotori or Yuasa Hiromi. So it came as quite a surprise when my request to engage in 2D schoolgirl courtship (via
