Happy new year! Finale, review and conclusion of this retro-blogathon! *Phew!* Chikane stops a grieving Himeko from killing herself. The truth is revealed as ancient memories are unsealed. The girls reveal their feelings to each other but are soon separated with Chikane's death, the defeat of the Orochi and the revival of the world - minus Chikane who has been sacrificed to that end and whose past existence has been completely erased though Himeko feels that absence. After the end credits, an older Himeko meets a Chikane-like figure (whose face is not shown) who is wearing the other half of the kaiawase pendant. Himeko rushes to embrace her and the series end with Himeko and Chikane saying "We fall in love again" in unison.

It's the end of the world. Himeko launches off in Ame no Murakamo with Souma (mounting Tsubasa sword power boost) riding shotgun. After several Big Robot fight scenes and running a gauntlet of chains, mirrors and projectile weapons, Himeko finally comes face to face with Chikane. The most romantically worded sword fight ever occurs but Himeko refuses to really put up a fight until provoked with Chikane's coldblooded destroying of the whole world. MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD.

Against expectations, Himeko makes progress with the revival ceremony alone. After a silent vision of Chikane pleading to be saved, Himeko revives Ame no Murakamo. Chikane then returns as if nothing happened and proceeds to pamper Himeko. They spend the night (chastely) together but Himeko awakes to Chikane's invitation to a dance of swords to the death.

Kazuki presses Himeko to continue the ceremony alone but she feels helpless without Chikane at her side. Meanwhile Chikane defeats all the other Orochi servitors to consolidate their power and position within herself. After receiving emotional support from some unexpected quarters, Himeko resolves to fighto - not for world peace but for love.

A ZOMG episode. Himeko notices that Chikane has become distant and tries to cheer her up with a present. Meanwhile Chikane sends Otaha away from the mansion and resigns from the student council. On a dark and stormy night, Chikane finally snaps - sexually assaulting Himeko and then beating down Souma as well as taking control of his big robot. She has fallen into despair and joined the Orochi.

Chikane struggles against temptation in Miyako's mirror world while Souma defends Himeko against the Chainguy orochi and then the mecha of the idol, nurse catgirl and mangaka. Chikane's despair of ever gaining Himeko's love is Miyako's lever to prevent the mikos from stopping her master but the lunar shrine maiden manages to resist. For now. Souma kisses Himeko after emerging victorious and this is witnessed by Chikane whose moon mark then restores the memory backups of her past live. With this knowledge and Himeko's own admission that Souma might be the one for her, Chikane makes a fateful decision.

Chikane recalls her love-at-first-sight experience with Himeko and is torn between supporting Himeko's relationship with Souma and wanting her for herself, an opportunity which is spotted by Miyako who watches through reflective surfaces (like Despair of the Endless). The Ame no Murakamo ceremony only manages to break half of six sealing swords before Himeko collapses. Kazuki smells a rat as the strain starts to show on Chikane.

Tsubasa, Souma's long-lost brother, tries to reclaim Souma for the Dark Side which he fell into after killing their own father to defend his little bro. However, Nekkid Glowing Himeko gives him Dah Power to use his Heart Piercing Technique on Tsubasa. And not before giving a little speech about fighting for his loved one which impresses Himeko and creates more angst for Chikane.

Souma asks Himeko out on a date with Chikane acquiescing, glassy-eyed and all. Turns out that Himeko had an abusive foster dad and Souma was a comforting childhood friend. Trying to be positive, Chikane evokes one of Himeko's bad childhood memories when she tries to do up her hair for the Souma date. This, plus Himeko actually going for the date itself, causes her major angst. Otoha tries to cheer her up but Chikane wastes her alcohol when the foremost Orochi minion (who seems to know Souma) shows up with another mech.

With Himeko's dorm room destroyed, Chikane decides to try cohabiting. The head maid, who loves Chikane, realizes what her mistress is up to though. Himeko suffers bullying in school due to jealousy but both her male and female suitors come to her aid - the latter without her knowledge though. During their miko cosplay, Chikane takes a hit while shielding Himeko. They have a romantic little chat at the beach with Himeko's shell pendant becoming a Plot Device. The catgirl Orochi minion shows up. Chikane is unable to protect Himeko and Souma saves the day again.
