From being very cold, it's now abnormally hot. The school splits into half to reveal a water theme park for great fanservice. However I had expected a rather more madcap finale but it felt strangely fillery. It's been a mad ride but overall I'm still glad I caught this series as it's definitely made for the otaku in mind. It's pretty shocking that it's been licensed for the US since the jokes are rather obscure and sub-culturally-specific. Maybe they think that if Azumanga Daioh (which relies a lot on Japanese puns for its humour) could do well, maybe the fans will support this too.

Continuing on from PPD!23, the 1-C Gumi heads out into space onboard Pani Poni X. Anime references galore, particularly from Evangelion. They finally discover that the giant comet is the Ichijou Matsuri, the cardboard box made by our mysterious class representative. They finally defeat it and the Earth is saved. BTW Deep Impact > Armageddon.

Things pick up with some Edo-style martial arts drama. Magistrate Beikimon is abusing her power with the imposition of a hauhau tax; anyone who cries has to cough up JPY 100 per cry. The 1-C gang, now formed as the Pani Ponin, set out for great justice.

Felt like a filler episode. First third of the episode revolved around how everyone felt miserable due to the abnormally cold weather. Second third was taken up by Suzune's hand puppet theatre. Final part was everyone, led by Becky, having a string of unlucky incidents. It's revealed that the cause is due to a giant asteroid heading towards the Earth.

Not a favourite episode of mine despite the delightful pixie game mode. TV crew comes to the school to interview the teacher and students. Everyone is eager for their 15 minutes of fame but something always goes wrong. 1-C thinks they've got a winner because of their very unique teacher but Becky unexpectedly reacts badly.

"I am Akane Serizawa from Class 1-D. I am a 'my pace' O blood type and an action-packed Gemini. My charm point is my neko mimi hair and my extracurricular activity is Drama Club. Currently, I am... I am... a stand-in for Miyamoto-sensei." Serizawa is one of my favourite characters and this episode does a great job of showcasing her; I certainly enjoyed it a lot more than the Behoimi episode.

Suzune and Otome make an appearance again at last! Next to Serizawa x Kurusu, they feel like such a seasoned couple.

One of my favourite episodes of this series, not least because of the OP, Shoujo Q. The main story line relates to Himeko being taken over by the Matango mushroom alien (which had replaced her ahoge since a few episodes back) and Becky being traumatised by Matango-Himeko no longer loving her. The scene caps, however, celebrate other stuff. Such as Kurumi's lesbian tendencies and turning the yuri goggles on Serizawa x Kurusu.

Becky's Six get infected by the Peach Moon virus and are quarantined. The intrepid Miyamoto-sensei investigates possible infection from the neighbouring Class 1-D. Hilarity is supposed to ensue but what happens simply confirms, for me, how 1-C > 1-D.
