Saki 10

I don't think they'll be getting much sleep though.
*Warning: This post is rather more filthy than my usual stuff. LOL*
Saki 7

Takei Hisa's 'Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen' moment. There were some interesting contrasts in each half of the episode. In the first half, attention was lavished on Nodoka wiping out her opponents while we didn't even see Saki steamroll hers. But I suppose that was to set up the shock and surprise of Ryuumonbuchi after Touka's obsessing over how Nodoka is Nodocchi. In the second half, it was a contrast over how Ryuumonbuchi is a team of wealthy eccentrics in contrast to Kazekoshi's more ordinary background (with tyrannical coach) and team leadership.
Saki 6

Steven Den Beste opines:
As to the yuri, it's all a tease. And it's been declining. There wasn't any of it in ep 6, for example.
Well, one just has adjust one's yuri goggle power settings and you'll be able to detect the yuri power stronger than ever. For example, in the above left screenie, if 'strong looking' is what kids call 'hot looking' these days and in the right screen, 'against' really means 'with' then...
Saki 5

Would you rather be the fan or the penguin?
Nodoka witnesses the firepower of these full armed and operational blushing shoulders.
Saki 4

This week's episode takes Saki down a peg. Hisa gets a pro to secretly ambush our title chara and gf Nodoka. I'm pleased that Saki's aura of invincibility has been broken; that re-introduces dramatic tension into the games. Yet, at the same time, I am incredulous that there are going to be numerous characters wielding even greater uber-powers. This might get a bit too much for me to swallow.
Saki expectation management session one
Even if the considerable buzz around Saki didn't get me started on this series, the Shizu-sama Doctrine would have. Nonetheless some of the issues raised certainly sound prescient and might be useful in managing my expectations.
On the issue of GONZO, Aroduc grudgingly gives credit. Like Kurogane, I'm still 'having reservations' but not WRT animation QUALITY (glad to read that the first episode is faithful to the anime BTW). I was worried about GONZO possibly flubbing the ending but re-reading Stripey's Heaven or Hell post, he identified their weakness as character development. Perhaps it's more of a problem with male than female cast members?
