The first line of his post sums it all up in the spirit of fun that this episode embodies:

Yeah, it’s the body-switching OVA of lulz and Shana dere-dere.

The increasing proportion of Shana dere-dere is one of the two main reasons why my impression of this series has improved over time. The higher proportion of traditional over modern tsundere allows me to feel that there is progress in the Shana x Yuuji relationship, the seeming lack of which contributed to my giving up on Zero no Tsukaima.

The other main reason is, of course, the glory that is Shana-tan: with seiyuu-based Hayate no Gotoku and ToraDora references and even an Index crossover on a studio/publisher basis in the latest installment (Shana-tan Revenge).

Shakugan no Shanatan: Konoe Fumina Strikes Back!

Verily Shanatan is the best part of this whole franchise.

Because we get, as Aroduc describes it so aptly, 'cranky Yoshida' - Kawasumi Ayako does sweet lovely so well but I'd love to see her do more lead roles like this version of Yoshida! And she did do brilliantly as Chikane in Kannazuki.

Add yandere psycho moé roles to that Kawasumi Ayako wish list too.

My only gripe is the lack of Pheles x Wirhelmina love love in this Shanatan installment. But maybe we'll get something along those lines in another Banjo no Carmel-san? Oh please, we must getto!

OTL at Margery's punny innuendo about Sabrac hiding 'huge weapon'. And LOL for Shizuka Itou using a version of her voice that's more like Hinagiku than Wirhelmina. Not a de arimasu in sight!

OMG Bel Peol as the Mama-san! I'd be a regular at this snack bar!! And nearly bust a gut LOLing hearing Sabrac addressed as 'Sabu-chan'.

Well, this means that my brilliant plan has succeeded. We shall have a third season!

Either Wirhelmina wears strapless (bandages!) or corset or that shred of meidofuku on the left shoulder is covering the strap. Is it too much to imagine... supportless?!

Well, at least *someone's* happy.

Now the good stuff comes. Sorry, totali, but I'm actually a bigger fan of the Shana-tan parodies than of the series proper. Though I like to tease Aroduc for being mean, I agreed with his overall assessment. The pacing could have been better, the school love comedy and action didn't quite gel together very well *but* we shouldn't have expected otherwise as the first season was like that too. Though I'm still scratching my head why the Sabrac vs Wirhelmina fight seems to have gone down well generally... I enjoyed the pacing and backstory was good but the animation quality was a tad disappointing in comparison to the gorgeous OP sequence. Well, an anime where the OP animation is better than the overall series animation quality, this won't be the first series that's happened...

Likewise I agree with Omni that while this last episode was entertaining, it did feel rushed. But at least we had good, non-SUNRISE resolutions to two big questions: What was the Balle Masque plotting to do with the Reiji Maigo? And will Yuuji x Shana actually make some progress after the step back from the end of the first season?

Shana-tan must have a Banjo no Carmel-san special where our favourite meido is typing smutty Pheles x Wirhelmina fanfiction with Tiamat assistance!!! Wirhelmina x Pheles Love Love OVA would be nice too.
