I was LOL when Yuki took out the kiddie electronic keyboard with microphone. And when she started belting out 'Paradise Lost' against the simplified tune, I just lost it. Great seiyuu in-joke. And that Ga-Rei Zero OP song was my second favourite thing from the series. Other songs I'd love to hear on the Yuki Minfong Ho repetorie would be Junpaku Sanctuary, mokutt minami growing (LOL) and, of course, Yuki, Muon, Madobe nite. Suggestions for duet with Achakura?
But I was still surprised that a song from an anime by another studio (in this case, AIC Spirits & asread). Yeah I know KyoAni did that too for the Lucky Star EDs with the closed karaoke room door but I don't think those were recent anime. Paradise Lost was comparatively much more recent. Other animes, like Hayate no Gotoku, seem to take great pains only to sample its own music - minimize royalty payouts and maximize pimpage of own stuff?
Achakura comes to those who wait
Nyoron Churuya was pretty funny in 4koma form but it hasn't translated well into anime. But a new challenger has finally arrived! For me, Mini-Ryoko is the best thing about the Haruhi-chan series.
P.S. Belated comment on the long wait for Haruhi Season 2: Good things come to those who wait. Verily I sayeth unto you that Guinness is proof of evolution; much in the manner of how Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Efferversence of fandom: Kyonko and MSLNFPFR
Hinano's announcement that she has jumped on the Kyonko bandwagon was the nudge for a few thoughts, that have been fermenting away at the bottom of my mind's barrel, to bubble to the surface. A couple of quick comments on the Kyonko phenomenon and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS parodies of Nanoha's 'Full Power Full Release!' (????) catch phrase.
After Myssa Rei's comment, I have been searching my feelings about the whole Kyonko thing. There were two things about it which did not particularly endear themselves to me. First, the girls get turned into guys. Yuki becomes Yuuki. orz orz orz orz
ComiKet 72 Day Two
Due to lack of luggage space, I only bought another Saber plushie. Spent the rest of my time there at the cosplay area. First off, nominees for the Sailor Bubba award. One guy doing Suigintou and another Teana Lanster. Great costumes, great attitude!

Zaku raid on Akiba
...was what I would have liked to say about yesterday's expedition to the Holy Land. Instead it was more appropriate to describe it as Akiba raids Zaku wallet. I would orz but I also saw this marvellous sign in a basement shop with a big red circle around and line across OTL - orz is forbidden! Photography was also forbidden in most places; I had to sneak most of my shots from just outside the shops or in the corridors and stairways.

To be brutally honest, I bought this issue mainly for the Konata pencilboard. But that's ok as I really like this shitajiki. As Shingo pointed out in his review, none of the posters had the 'OMG must buy and hang' always on my mind level of Megami-type evilness but the Lucky Star content was enough to keep me satisfied.

Art thou hear the angels sing, Yuki has come home today. And her fans will live forever more, because of St Nagato-chi. My most anticipated (and, so far, only) figurine purchase for 2007 has finally arrived!!
