Alter Shigure Asa :: Grassy field in the evening

As usual, I should have seen it coming. Or rather, I should have heard it coming. The running footfalls approaching from behind. The intake of breadth. Perhaps even the swinging of her arm through the air. There was, of course, no missing either the loud greeting of "HELLO!" and the slap on the back.
'You sure are late going home today!' she chirped.
'You too, Asa-senpai.'
Comp H Vol.3 and Megami DELUXE Vol.8

Thanks to Shingo, I rushed to purchase a copy of Comptiq Heroines Vol.3 (2007 Spring). Amazon.co.jp then just had to flag Megami DELUXE Vol. 8 (other people who bought X also bought Y...) with Asa-senpai in all her waitressing glory on the cover. As moyism sayeth unto us: Evil I tells you.
SHUFFLE! Memories 12

Swimsuit fanservice and the relentless waves of humourous scenes! Of course, lots of my favourite character: Asa-senpai, you look gorgeous as always!
SHUFFLE! Memories 5

No new Asa footage in Ep 4 so I've skipped it. Omni's post already covers all the main points anyway.
SHUFFLE! Memories 3

Some commenters on my post about the previous episode were disappointed by the lack of new material, other than the OP/EDs. I'm beginning to suspect that, if the new OPs are a reliable guide, the second episode of each girl's story (?) will be about how each girl gets Rin. Therefore there is a possibility, currently still slight, of seeing Sia, Nerine, Yandere Kaede and *gasp* Primula endings. That last pairing is what causes me to feel that, of course, asread could just be jerking our chains and preparing to spring a SUNRISE on us.
I made my guess above because of the way the Kaede OP ends with her kissing Rin AND now we see Rin forcing Asa to use her magic with some kind of amulet instead of the boxcutter. I'm generally quite a believer in OP?? (fortune telling) - quite a few can be considered to be a good summary of an entire series' plot or of a particular arc. If the OPs for the other girls show the same thing, then my anticipation will grow. The reason for this may be due to the demand from fans of the SHUFFLE! game (which the 24 episode WOWOW broadcast was based on) and that there is considerable demand, given that the SHUFFLE! game apparently sold very well despite being released on the same day as a TYPEMOON release. Thus, each girl's first episode sets up the possibility of her getting together with Rin and then the second one realizes it. Or we could just get recap again and the alternative ending is just confined to the OP.
In any case, big thanks to moyism for providing the raw.
I'm definitely enjoying the OP/EDs. Loads of Asa screenies follow:
SHUFFLE! Memories 2

Hisashiburi no motivation poster... Second of the Lolicon (PPP) series. Creditless version just isn't the same though. Explanatory note re:mitigation for those who are interested: ▼ Show
SHUFFLE! Memories 1

As observed by Omni, hardly any new stuff. LOL'ed at Rin's description of Asa as a "super woman". The format seems to be setting up how Rin got to know each of the girls (thus fitting with the new and quite nice YURIA OP, Fateful Encounters). If there have thirteen episodes in total, then it's possible we might get two episodes dedicated to each haremette (Kaede, Sia, Nerine, Primula and Asa) and still have two left for completely new material. Or we could have one episode each but also including Eustoma & Forbeshi, Itsuki, Ama, Mayumi, Beni-sensei and Kareha with new material spliced into each with space for one entirely new episode. Could also be that there isn't going to be an alternative ending or that they're going to have all the other alternative endings other than the canonical Asa end from the original WOWOW broadcast. More answers next week!
SHUFFLE! Manga Vol.1 Ch 1-2

Kudoes to Kawaii Heavens (They Of Fanbook Munificience) for scanlating the SHUFFLE! manga. Although we see the occasional series where the manga is licensed but the anime is not (e.g. Keroro Gunsou), I don't think SHUFFLE! will ever reach the English-speaking market in either medium. While I'm enjoying what I've seen the manga thusfar, it mainly reinforces my impression that asread has done a brilliant job of interpreting the original eroge and translating that into the anime.
SHUFFLE! 24

The final episode at last! Rin finds Asa at the hillside viewing point where she reminisces about all her happy memories like it's the last night of her life. Unable to persuade her to save herself and at his wits' end, Rin slashes his wrist. Her desire to save him, coupled with Rin channelling Mentar's reasoning, causes Asa to use her magic to heal him thus saving them both.
Things are back to normal harem comedy. Kaede, Nerine and Lisianthus/Kikyou continue to jockey for Rin's favour. Mayumi and Itsuki clash. Primula provides surprisingly numerous doses of humour. Ama-san no longer has to live in fear of the Yggdrasil Project.
122 screencaps follow. Mostly of our (i.e. the AAA's) beloved Shigure Asa of course but a few of Ama and Kikyou as well. Readers may find some of the screenies disturbing.
